123 <br /> TOWN CELEBRATIONS COMMITTEE <br /> January 8, 1958 <br /> The seventeenth meeting of the Town Celebra- <br /> tions Committee was held in the conference room, Cary <br /> Memorial Hall on January 8, 1958 Present Messrs <br /> Gustin, Rooney, Lewis, Cole, Mel Hunt and Mrs Pullen. <br /> Mr Mel Hunt a reed to assume responsibility SPIRIT OF <br /> for the "Spirit of '76", including getting the players , '76 <br /> finding uniforms which he presumes can be done within <br /> the $75 budget <br /> Mrs Cheever' s resignation was accepted with RESIGNATION <br /> regret Mr Lewis will write her a letter of appre- <br /> ciation and suggest that the selectmen do likewise . MRS CHEEVER <br /> It was agreedshe should have a written invitation to <br /> the reception on April 19th <br /> Mr Gustin reported that the Masonic Hall will <br /> be available for the luncheon on April 19th. for $35 <br /> but will not be available for the reception He will <br /> look into other possibilities <br /> Mrs . Pullen submitted an idea for a gimmick <br /> for April 19th in the form of a birth certificate that <br /> acknowledges Lexington as the birthplace of American <br /> liberty and reaffirms the signatory' s belief in the <br /> American way She also reported finding 22 Lexingtons <br /> in the U S. and will write to each requesting histor- <br /> ical information for the future "Lexington Room" at <br /> the library <br /> Doris L Pullen <br /> Acting Secretary <br />
