119
TOWN CELEBRATIONS COMMITTEE
December 8, 1957
The fifteenth meeting of the Town Celebrations
Committee was held at 5 p.m , December 8, 1957 at
the home of Mr Gustin Present: Messrs Gustin,
Cole, Rooney, Lewis; Mesdames Pullen, Cheever and
Litchfield.
Mr Gustinpresented a tentative budget of BUDGET
$4200 for the year 1958.
Only changes in the submitted budget were re-
duction of rental of loudspeaker from $175 to $150,
and increase of janitor fees frau 325 to $50, no
change in total of $4200
Motion was made and seconded to hire the
Belfry Club for the day of the 19th. Motion carried. CATERER
It was felt this might be more advantageous than
entertaining luncheon guests outside Inasmuch as it
if not known how many people from Yankee Homecoming
may have to be offered hospitality, a caterer at the
Belfry Club seemed to be a better arrangement. Mr.
Cole and Mr. Rooney suggested the caterer who serves
the Lions Club and Episcopal Men's Club.
No letter has been received from the Chamber
of Commerce relative to breakfast the morning of the
19th, and no letter from the Rotary Club regarding
Ball that evening
Mr Gustin informed the committee he had re-
ceived a call from Mr Frost, relative to having
15,000 boy scouts from Maine to T,exington for -the
19th Sen Brewster of Maine had contacted Mr Frost
The committee agreed unanimously that it would be
impossible for Lexington to handle such a number, and
Mr Frost will be so informed
Next meeting will be at 8:15 p.m. , January 2,
1958 in the Converence Room, Cary Memorial Hall
Eleanor Litchfield
Secretary
