113 <br /> TOWN CELEBRATIONS COMMITTEE <br /> November 7, 1957 <br /> The twelfth meeting of the Town Celebrations Com- <br /> mittee was held in the Conference Room, Cary Memorial <br /> Hall at 8 15 p.m , November 7, 1957 Present Messrs <br /> Gustin, Poehler, Cole; Mesdames Pullen, Litchfield, <br /> Ch.eever <br /> Mr Bandes informed the committee Rabbi Robert THANKSGIVING <br /> Shapiro of Temple Israel, Boston, will take part in <br /> the Thanksgiving service, representing the Jewish faith. <br /> Board of Selectmen. have been informed of plans for <br /> the service, and a member of the board will read the gov- <br /> ernor' s proclamation <br /> Mr Cole said Mr Warden of the Council of Churches <br /> will act as head usher <br /> Names of several organists were given Mr Poehler, <br /> who will check with the High. School, to select one <br /> It was agreed that the seal of the town of Lexing- <br /> ton will be used on. the front cover of the program. An- <br /> other year it is hoped the cover can be designed by a <br /> pupil in high. school <br /> Letter from Mr Wm Roger Greeley, published in the <br /> Minute-man was read Mr Greeley stated that tree planted <br /> on the common in 1948, commemorating U N Day, has not yet <br /> been marked Committee will bring this to the attention <br /> of the Board of Selectmen, and see that a marker is placed <br /> on the tree at the next U N Day observance <br /> Letter from Carol A Flynn was read in which she <br /> thanked the committee for her opportunity to visit New <br /> York and the U N <br /> Mrs Litchfield was asked to phone Mrs Hanson <br /> inviting her to meeting Nov 14, to hear her report <br /> Mr Gustin. read letter from the Board of Selectmen <br /> relative to committee budget for ne±b year Budget will <br /> be discussed at meeting November 21, at which time Mr <br /> Gillespie will be asked to be present <br /> `-- Eleanor B Litchfield <br /> Secretary <br />
