109 <br /> TOWN CELEBRATIONS COMMITTEE <br /> October 17, 1957 <br /> The tenth meeting of the Town Celebrations <br /> Committee was held at 8 15 p.m , Octiber 17 , 1957 <br /> in the Selectmen's Room Committee members present: <br /> Messrs Gustin, Cole, Lewis; Mesdames Cheever, Pullen, <br /> Litchfield. <br /> It was voted that the corresponding secretary, <br /> Mrs Cheever, write to the clergy of all churches in <br /> town asking that they mention U N Day, October 24th <br /> at their service <br /> Mr Poehler could not be present but notified <br /> the secretary that Junior High exercises and tree TREE <br /> planting will be at 10 a m. October 24th, and Senior <br /> High exercises at 10 .45 a.m Patricia Cutter of the <br /> Senior High School asked Mrs Cheever to extend an <br /> invitation to members of committee to attend exer- <br /> cises, <br /> Mrs Hansonreported there were 13 entries for <br /> the U N contest, nine girls and four boys, and that ESSAY <br /> judges will meet next Tuesday to choose winners CONTEST <br /> Barrett Press bill for stationery, $30,25, was <br /> approved for payment <br /> Mr Warden of the Council of Churches brought <br /> a program of last year' s Thanksgiving service . Mr CHORAL <br /> Cole reported he had talked with Mr Lockwood, Presi- SOCIETY <br /> dont ot- the-Lexington-Chor--al Souioty-, -who will put <br /> the matter of the Choral Society' s participation up <br /> to his board, and will let the committee know its <br /> decision the first of next week <br /> If the Choral Society doesn' t care to partici- <br /> pate, Dr. Bandes suggested that the Junior and Senior <br /> High School Glee Clubs be asked <br /> It was voted to have the following group plan <br /> the order of service Rev Floyd Taylor for Council <br /> of Churches; Rev. George Casey for the Catholic <br /> Church; Dr Herbert Bandes for the Jewish Community <br /> Center <br /> L_ <br /> Motion was made and seconded that Mr Cole be <br />
