105 <br /> ( - TOWN CELEBRATIONS COMMITTEE <br /> October 3, 1957 <br /> The eighthmeeting of the committee was held <br /> at 8 1.5 p.m. , October 3, 1957 in the Conference Room, <br /> Cary Memorial Hall <br /> Members present Lewis, Hutchins, Poehler, Cole, Pullen, <br /> Litchfield <br /> Representatives Mr Foster and Viano of Chamber of <br /> Commerce; Mrs Lanson, L W V. <br /> Mr Lewis acted as chairmanin the absence of <br /> Mr Gustin. Mr Foster informed the committee the YANKEE <br /> Mayor of Boston and Yankee Homecoming had issued an in- HOMECOMING <br /> vitation to Queen Elizabethto visit Boston during her <br /> visit to the U S Mr Foster also showed a poster en- <br /> titled "Let It, Begin Here" done by Mr Frost One sug- <br /> gestion was to send one to each of the 16 towns named <br /> Lexington in the U S <br /> Secretary of the Chamber of Commerce of Concord <br /> called Mr Viano, and they plan to have lunch next <br /> Tuesday Mr Viano will report to committee any plans <br /> or ideas discussed Concord would like to be included <br /> in Yankee Homecoming <br /> Committee gave permission for Rotary to have Ball <br /> the night of the 19th, as requested by Mr Viano. <br /> Mrs Hanson reported on her work for U N obser- <br /> vance at the high school She is working on obtaining <br /> thrives fnr essay cont t Mr Poehler--sa-id-Mis-s McPrrtyro <br /> will check with Mr Smith and Mr Warren to have Mr <br /> Gibson accompany the essay winners to New York Mr <br /> Gibson has accepted. <br /> Mr Robert Craven of the Lexington Minute Men came <br /> to the meeting, and offered to obtain speaker for the U N <br /> assembly He suggested a French priest connected with the <br /> U N Mr Poehler took literature and name, but it was <br /> felt the assembly was well organized and there might not <br /> be time enough for this speaker. <br /> Mr Lloyd and Mr. Borella of the newly formed 4-H <br /> Riding Group also came to the meeting. They wish their <br /> group to participate in the morning parade of the 19th, and <br /> asked permission of the committee The group ranges in age <br />
