91 <br /> TOWN CELEBRATIONS COMMITTEE <br /> July 22, 1957 <br /> The first meeting of the 1957-1958 Town Cele- <br /> brations Committee was held at Cary Memorial Hall at <br /> 8 30 p.m , July 22, 1957 Those present were: Messrs <br /> Gustin, Lewis, Cole, Hutchins, Mesdames Pullen, <br /> Cheever and Litchfield. <br /> Mr Lewis made a motion to elect officers for <br /> the ensuing year Motion was carried, and officers ORGANIZA- <br /> were elected as follows TION OF <br /> Chairman - Mr Joseph Rooney COMMITTEE <br /> Co-chrmn - Mr Lincoln Cole <br /> Secretary- Mrs Gerald B Litchfield <br /> Mrs Pullen was appointed chairman of pub- <br /> licity, and Mr Poehler, previously appointed, is <br /> chairman of U N. Day <br /> Mr Lincoln P Cole, Jr , Mrs Philip F <br /> Pullen, and Mrs Gerald B Litchfield were the three <br /> members appointed by the Board of Selectmento <br /> serve for three years <br /> The committee has been approached by the Lex- COUNCIL OF <br /> ington Council of Churches to see if the committee CHURCHES <br /> would sponsor a Thanksgiving service with all Lex- <br /> ington churches participating Before making a de- <br /> cision Mr Lewis will contact by phone Father Casey <br /> of St Brigid' s, and Father Murphy of Sacred Heart <br /> Mr Gustinwill contact the minister of the Jewish <br /> synagogue <br /> Mr Gustin said $256 had already been anent <br /> of our 1957 budget, with $50 apiece given to the BUDGET <br /> senior and junior high schools <br /> It was tentatively planned to have meetings <br /> the second and fourth Monday of each month, Mrs MEETINGS <br /> Litchfield to contact Mr Poehler to see if those <br /> dates are convenient for him Next meeting is to <br /> be August 12th <br /> Eleanor Litchfield, <br /> Secretary <br />
