r — TOWN CELEBRATIONS COMMITTEE <br /> April 26, 1957 <br /> The nineteenth meeting of the Town Celebrations <br /> Committee was held at Cary Memorial Hall, Conference <br /> Room, at 8 p.m April 26, 1957 Members present were <br /> Messrs. Albertine, Gustin, Rooney, Hutchins, Mrs <br /> Ch.eever and Mrs. Litchfield. <br /> The first order of business was to hear the pro- <br /> tests of the following citizens of the town. because HORSES <br /> horses were not permitted to be in the parade IN <br /> PARADE <br /> Mr and Mrs Paul Lloyd <br /> Mr and Mrs . Frederick J Hopwood <br /> Mr. John Brucchi <br /> Mr. Sam Borella <br /> It was pointed out to them that all interested <br /> groups in town had been notified through the Minute-man <br /> that there were meetings of the Town Celebrations Com- <br /> mittee to which they were invited, and no member of <br /> their group ever came It was also explained that units <br /> cannot be included in the parade the morning of the 19th <br /> without previous notification. A group of young people <br /> on horseback appeared that morning, and had to be told <br /> they were not on the roster of parade, but could march <br /> after the police cruiser, on their own responsibility <br /> The committee was advised that Mr Douglas Maxner SPIRIT <br /> would no longer take responsibility for the Spirit of OF '76 <br /> '76, and it was decided that Mr Gillespie should be <br /> asked if he H±gk. Ju«vol would care- to take—that detail <br /> of the parade <br /> Motion was made and seconded that the committee <br /> pay up to $25 for lunch for the National Lancers <br /> Motion carried <br /> Eleanor Litchfield <br /> Secretary <br />
