75 <br /> TOWN CELEBRATIONS COMMITTEE <br /> March 7, 1957 <br /> The thirteenthmeeting of the committee was <br /> held in the conference room on March 7, 1957 Present <br /> were Messrs Gustin, Albertine, Gagne, Lewis, and Mrs <br /> Cheever <br /> Guests present were Herman Foster and Warren <br /> Prescott from Boy Scouts; Barbara Gorell and Evelyn Jefts, <br /> Girl Scouts; Jack Wallens, Theatre Guild of Arts and APRIL 19th <br /> Crafts; Bill Rae, 4-H Clubs; John Garrity, Grange ; Bob <br /> Rosendorn and Mr Miller, Jewish. Community Center; <br /> Murray Dearborn, American Legion; Martin Bashian, Kiwanis <br /> After a brief explanation of the morning parade <br /> this year, the following divisions were temporarily set <br /> up <br /> 1) Marching Units: Girl and Boy Scouts, American <br /> Legion, Catholic Youth, Minute Men and Army <br /> Youth. Reserve <br /> 2) Drill teams Rainbow girls and DeMolay boys <br /> 3) Floats 4-H Clubs, Arts and Crafts, Senior <br /> Girl Scouts, Lions, Kiwanis, Jewish. Youth. <br /> 4) Junior and Senior High School bands <br /> The rest of the evening was spent in making tenta- <br /> tive plans for order of march with the two student bands <br /> providing the music The question came up of how much to <br /> donate to the bands for slaving only in the morning this <br /> year Upon inquiry as to how much was donated last year, <br /> no item was found listed in the last year' s budget for <br /> such a donation Mrs Cheever was asked to contact Mr <br /> Gillespie to see if any or what amount was paid to the <br /> bands last year <br /> It was agreed by those present that Mr Gustin ask <br /> Joseph Rooney to be the chief marshal of the morning <br /> parade with authority to choose his aides, and Paul Poehler <br /> to be in charge of the floats <br /> Mr Gustinsaid that because of the precinct meet- <br /> ing on Wednesday evening, March 13, it would be necessary <br /> to put the next meeting along one day to Thursday, March 14 <br /> Mrs Cheever was to contact Miss Murray to make the neces- <br /> sary change and then notify the members <br /> Edith B Cheever, Asst Sec <br />
