67 <br /> TOWN CELEBRATIONS COMMITTEE <br /> February 4, 1957 <br /> The ninth meeting of the Town Celebrations <br /> Committee was held at the home of the chairman, Mr <br /> Gustin at 8 p.m , February 4, 1957 Those present <br /> were Messrs Gustin, Gagne, Albertine, Mesdames <br /> Cheever and Litchfield <br /> A letter was read from Mr Page, chairman of <br /> the United World Federalists of Lexington, asking <br /> for information on getting a member of their organ- <br /> ization on our committee Mrs Litchfield was in- <br /> structed to reply to Mr Page, telling him the com- <br /> mittee is a by-law committee of the town, and mem- <br /> bers are appointed by the Board of Selectmen <br /> Letter was also read from Immaculate Con- <br /> ception Rectory in Everett, wishing to participate <br /> in the parade <br /> Mr Albertine, representing the Lexington <br /> ( Council of Churches, asked the committee if they <br /> would sponsor a brotherhood religious service in <br /> 1958 The committee felt this was beyond their <br /> jurisdiction, that their function was to carry out <br /> celebrations as designated by the Board of Selectmen <br /> Plans were discussed relative to asking all <br /> youth groups of the town to come to a committee meet- <br /> ing It is hoped the groups will be interested in <br /> participating in the morning parade <br /> Eleanor Litchfield, <br /> Secretary <br />
