59 <br /> LEXINGTON CELEBRATIONS COMMITTEE <br /> rn <br /> October 18, 1956 <br /> The fifth meeting of the Town Celebrations <br /> Committee was held in Car Memorial Hall conference <br /> room at 8 p.m , October 16, 1956 The following <br /> were present Messrs Gustin, Pierce, Lewis, Rooney, <br /> Albertine, and Mrs Litchfield <br /> The Secretary' s report was read and approved <br /> Mr Gustin informed the committee the presen- <br /> tation of books for the U N Bookshelf will be at the <br /> library at 7 30 p.m , October 24th <br /> Mr Rooney has been in touch with the managers <br /> of the First National and A & P relative to sale of COOK BOOKS <br /> U N cook books. <br /> Father Hogan of St Brigid' s was present The <br /> committee talked over with him plans for April 19th CHURCH <br /> morning parade As there will only be evening ser- SERVICES <br /> vices at St Brigid's on Good Friday, the early morn- ON 19th <br /> ing ceremonies on the Green will not interfere It is <br /> Il hoped that a combined service with all churches par- <br /> ticipating can be arranged for U N week, 1957 <br /> Mr Lewis informed the committee the American <br /> Legion will be glad to give $10 toward books for the U N BOOKSHELF <br /> U N Bookshelf <br /> Mr Gus tin showed the committee the plaque <br /> for tree to be planted U N day at the high. school TREE <br /> He has checked with the Park Department to recommend <br /> tree to he planted They rennmmenrl either rnnk nr <br /> red maple <br /> Motion was made and seconded to have Leigh. <br /> Jones take picture of tree planting ceremony, and also <br /> U N Bookshelf presentation Motion carried <br /> Eleanor Litchfield, <br /> Secretary <br />
