33 <br /> TOWN CELEBRATIONS COMMITTEE <br /> February 14, 1956 <br /> The eleventh regular meeting of the Town Cele- <br /> brations Committee was held on February 14 from B to <br /> 9 30 p.m in the American Legion Room of Cary Hall. <br /> Those present were: Lewis, Cheever, Foster, Bashian, <br /> Frothingham, Poehler, Bernier, Litchfield, Williams, <br /> Robinson <br /> Mr Lewis told about a special meeting which <br /> had been called to help the Board of Selectmen in ARTICLE FOR <br /> setting up an Article in the warrant concerning a By- TOWN <br /> law Celebrations Committee by writing out our sugges- WARRANT <br /> tions for them. We are suggesting a committee of <br /> nine for a three-year term, three of the committee to <br /> be women, and that the committee be appointed by the <br /> Board of Selectmen. Mr Lewis explained that the By- <br /> law Committee would be Article 31 in the Town Warrant . <br /> Mrs. LaPorte and Mrs Gorell came to ask us <br /> questions about April 19 and inform us, too, that the <br /> 1 Girl Scouts would both march and have a float. <br /> Mr Poehler reported that the elementary <br /> children would march in the parade and those plans <br /> would be given us later <br /> After a short discussion it was decided that <br /> we would invite General Douglas MacArthur to be our <br /> Guest of Honor <br /> Mr Lewis then announced various sub-committees <br /> Mr Paehlar-sugges-ted that tl,. oeuve wary maKe a new <br /> up-to-date list of committee members and the duties in <br /> addition to phone and address of each <br /> Mrs Edith B. Cheever, <br /> Secretary <br />
