19 <br /> LEXINGTON CELEBRATIONS COMMITTEE <br /> Minutes of the sixth meeting, November 1, 1955 <br /> The sixth meeting of the Town Celebrations Com- <br /> mittee was held in the Selectmen' s room on the evening <br /> of November 1 Elevent members were present Mesdames <br /> Cheever, Dodge, and Williams; Messrs Lewis, Bashian, <br /> Sawyer, Foster, Hutchins, Gillespie, Poehler, and <br /> Rooney. <br /> Mr Lewis introduced and welcomed our new mem- <br /> bers and called the meeting to order at 8:10 p.m The <br /> minutes of the last meeting were read and approved. <br /> Mr Lewis checked up on correct addresses and phone <br /> numbers of the list of members as set up by the secre- <br /> tary It was voted to have the secretary contact Mr <br /> Adams about printing stationery for the committee The <br /> Adams Press is to put the town seal, the name of the <br /> committee, and the two officers ' ( chairman and secre- <br /> tary) names, addresses, and phone numbers on 1000 sheets <br /> We are to order 1000 envelopes of two sizes, 500 each. <br /> Mr Lewis then explained our thoughts concern- <br /> ' ing April 19 for those who had been absent and the new APRIL <br /> members Mr. Bashian volunteered to bring a celebra- 19th <br /> tions book from the Greater Boston Council next meet- <br /> ing. Mr. Lewis appointed a sub-committee of three to <br /> get suggestions for a theme and report at the next <br /> meeting namely, Mr Poehler, Mr Sawyer, and Mrs <br /> Dodge After a short explanation and discussion about <br /> the children' s color guard, Mr. Poehler said he would <br /> talk with Mr Smith and his elementary principals . <br /> Hr hooney presented the chairman with a copy <br /> of last year' s budget and two forms for us to submit BUDGET <br /> budgets for 1956 and 1957 It was the feeling of <br /> those present that a few members concentrating on <br /> that matter would be better than taking up time for <br /> all to work on it at the present time So Mr Lewis <br /> arranged for a meeting with Mrs Cheever, Mrs Williams, <br /> and Mr Foster on the evening of November 10 at Mr. <br /> Foster' s office. <br /> We decided to ask Bert Gustin to be our publi- <br /> city chairman for April 19 The secretary was asked PUBLICITY <br /> to write a letter to Mr Adams in appreciation of his <br /> fine editorial in the Minute-man on the formation of <br /> this committee <br />
