9 <br /> �. presence of a Selectman and further by the fact that <br /> so few of the Committee were present It was agreed <br /> that we would have to proceed with the United Nations <br /> Day celebration to the extent of backing up the <br /> schools but that further activities of the Committee <br /> would have to wait over until a later meeting and <br /> until we received some clarification of our posi- <br /> tion from the Selectmen Mr Rooney tentatively <br /> agreed to act as Chairman of a Committee on Publicity <br /> with the particular task of contacting the ministers <br /> It was suggested that a good way to do this would be <br /> for a letter to be written to Mr George Morse as <br /> Secretary of the Council of Ministers and a separate <br /> letter to eachof the Catholic Church clergymen, <br /> these letters to be signed by Mr Lewis as Chairman <br /> and inviting them to emphasize United Nations on the <br /> Sunday before United Nations Day That would be <br /> Sunday, October twenty-third Mrs Cheever agreed <br /> to cooperate with the schools, in particular Miss <br /> McIntyre and the art department of the schools Mr <br /> Gustin practically guaranteed that he would bring in <br /> a Selectman at the next meeting The next meeting <br /> was set for Wednesday, October 5 It was agreed to <br /> see that each of the members of the Committee was <br /> personally contacted by telephone to notify them of <br /> the meeting of October 5 and various members present <br /> agreed to get in contact with those who were not <br /> present, with specific assignments in each case <br /> The meeting adjourned at ten o'clock <br /> Lewis Kennedy <br />
