to show students’progress, identify trends and gaps
in both mathematics and ELA.Students will be
de-identified on the wall. And the data is confidential
to students. The Harrington Administration will meet
with the Fiske Administration to learn about
individual students transferring to Harrington.
Jackie explained the overall design of the Placement
Process. The Placement Process for 2024-25 is
thoughtfully designed.Spreadsheets were used to
facilitate the design of the Placement Process
planning.Blind placement strategy was used with
teachers’names suppressed.The rationale is that
students should be placed to build the cohorts of the
kids, and then teachers will be selected based on the
characteristics of the kids.
Rory explained the details used for the spreadsheets
for the Placement Process.Tabs were linked to
connect the changes and revisions among different
sheets in order to create optimal placements.
Teachers have met several times to assure the right
placements of students. There are certain constraints
among students that the school should follow in order
to create the best learning environment for kids.
The parents'forms distributed to the community was
the first step of the whole placement process.Jackie’s
team paid attention to the special requests from the
parents. And her team communicated with the
parents to inform them of the adjustment made.
Special needs students were carefully arranged.
Teachers inside and outside classrooms were
consulted to provide inputs for the placement
process.
Teachers always try to put kids who are familiar with
each other into the same sections. The school had
meetings before the April break to decide the
arrangement of sections.
Spreadsheets were designed among principles to
provide the overall picture of the whole LPS.
