I <br /> EXPERIENCE develop new programs as well as facilitate ongoing activities. <br /> Lexington Public Schools <br /> Big Backyard Program Trainer&Coordinator for Estabrook School 2017-present <br /> Walk leader 2014-present <br /> Big Bacl<yard is an extension of the LPS grades K-5 science curriculum, with wall< <br /> content based on grade level standards set by the school district, but reliant on <br /> parent volunteers to lead three seasonal "wall<s" per year. As coordinator, I <br /> collaborate with school administration and 25 teachers in scheduling and logistics. <br /> I support volunteer walk leader recruitment by drafting emails and creating <br /> volunteer signups teachers send to parents, and answer parents' follow up <br /> questions. I promote the program at school events and through social media. I <br /> prepare wall<materials and supplies unique to each grade level, and communicate <br /> regularly with the District-level staff. Removing barriers to parent volunteering has <br /> been an ongoing focus for me. Because of my professional background, I <br /> additionally participate in a small group with district staff working on new walk <br /> curricula. In my role as program trainer, I lead training sessions specific to each <br /> grade-level, seasonal walk to prepare our volunteers.These trainings also include <br /> an overview of the program pedagogy. I additionally have been volunteering as a <br /> walk leader since my older child entered kindergarten in 2014. <br /> Lexington Living Landscapes <br /> Steering Committee secretary/treasurer&webmaster 2020-present <br /> Lexington Living Landscapes is a community organization focused on inspiring and <br /> assisting with change toward more sustainable land management practices, with a <br /> particular focus on native plants as the basis for healthy local ecology. As a <br /> founding member, I collaborated in developing its mission statement, created and <br /> maintain the website, brainstorm new ways to grow community engagement, <br /> promote our events and program ideas. <br /> Lexington Five and Under Network(LEXFUN!)
