Town Celebrations Committee <br />Minutes of Meeting (Draft) <br />March 6, 2024 <br />By Zoom Teleconference <br /> <br />Members Present: <br />Glen Bassett, Geetha Padaki, co-chairs <br />Dave Grabel, Sandy Podgorski, Lorain Marquis, Sue Stering, Cerise Jalelian, Linda Dixon, <br />Sondra Lucente, Yifang Gong, Pan Winters, Sudha Balasuryan, Hong Xie <br />Guest: Karen Tyler <br />Members not Present <br />Kevin Collins, Dabby Harter, Mary Hutton, Julie Miller, Hong Xie, Bonnie Karshbaum, Steve <br />Cole, Ashley Rooney <br />Business <br />• Meeting called to order at 7:02 pm <br />• 2/7 and 2/21 Meeting minutes corrected and approved. <br />PD planning <br />• Select Board approved TCC’s PD plan. We have notified the town manager and the DPW <br />about our plan. <br />• Glen offered a tribute to David Williams, recently deceased, who has volunteered for the <br />town for over 50 years. <br />• Lorain Marquis: The parade sponsors committed $7000, which is not bad at this stage. <br />• Sudha will manage the signage. <br />• There are 30 VIP tickets (reviewing stand) and more Bleacher tickets. If people are <br />looking for VIP tickets, please get their names to avoid duplicates. <br />• Bonnie and Sue Stering work effectively on the morning parade. <br />o Kicking off at 7:30 am, arriving at Battle Green by 8 am. The ceremony will start <br />at 8 am. <br />• Linda Dixon: The morning ceremony has two LHS student MCs, Sarah Kochi and Sarah <br />Chen. <br />• Sondra negotiated and brought the prices down for many parade units. <br />• David Grabel: we have 75 – 80 parade units. <br />• The motion to approve the parade units David presented (listed below) was approved <br />unanimously. <br />o Uncle Sam's Patriotic Jazz Band <br />o Trend N Motion - Hip Hop Dancers <br />o Hot Tamales Brass Band
