Battin, Chairperson, discussed meeting of Saturday morning on Park <br /> Drive by members of CRC and Mr Frank Cavatorta, the results of that meeting <br /> was to further revise the parking plan based on mutual concern for land and <br /> resident interests <br /> Mr W Tonaszuck presented another plan with lesser impact on land areas <br /> by recommending parralel parking on both sides of Park Drive A total of <br /> 29 spaces would result - 15 on one side - 14 on the other. Costs would in- <br /> volve $1000 to $2000 (grading) He stated that wetlands would not be affected <br /> and the School Department has no objections <br /> Ms L Nichols submitted Mr D Olson's objection to parking on both <br /> sides of Park Drive Suggested that only one side has parking. <br /> Ms J Bateson stated she would agree with Mr D Olson's suggestion if <br /> parking on one side could be extended to compensate for loss of parking on <br /> both sides Both Mr F Cavatorta and Ms strongly objected to any <br /> parking on Park Drive citing safety reasons, loss of life style, inconvenience <br /> of increased traffic, devaluation of property value, inability of picking <br /> berries along Park Drive and walking of dog <br /> Ms M. Battin, Chairperson, responded by restating the effort of the <br /> CRC to make up deficit parking by utilizing the system devised by the Town <br /> Planner Park Drive is one of the locations in that proposal and the CRC <br /> has arrived at a minimum impact on the area Ms Battin suggested 30 spaces <br /> be considered, 15 East of Muzzey St - 15 West of Muzzey St - on the side <br /> nearest the High School <br /> Mr K. Sorenson stated there was not sufficient augument to allow parking <br /> on residential areas around center <br /> Ms Batting, Chairperson, requested Mr W Tonaszuck to check with the <br /> Conservation Committee in regard to Mr K. Sorenson's concern with Parking <br /> along roadside at Park Drive Also check with Town in regard to when parking <br /> revisions were initiated on Park Drive <br /> FOR SELECTMAN'S AGENDA <br /> Prohibit parking on Mass Avenue - Winthrop to Slocum St. <br /> (Safety issue) <br /> Interim proposal for Meriam Street parking facility Ms J Bateson <br /> submitted the following plan to utilize spaces on existing lot <br /> A. Conditions Permits are valid in the permit area only <br /> up until 11 a m. <br /> After 11 a.m. permit area will be usable <br /> by validated machine tickets <br />
