-2- <br /> C R C Meeting July 6, 1982 <br /> Richard Spaulding and John Duffy made a presentation of their plans for the Colonial <br /> Garage site They plan to demolish the present building, constructing in its place <br /> a building with approximately the same footprint but with two sotries The first <br /> floor will contain retail space (approx 13,000 sq fto usable space) and an arcade <br /> The second floor will be for office space (13,700 sq ft ) There will be 30 parking <br /> spaces in the rear; a plaza in the front 30% of the property will be landscaped; <br /> 70% paved or built upon <br /> Mr Spaulding will appear before the Historic District Commission on the 14th Given <br /> Town approvals are made construction could start in October If there are any delays <br /> it will probably start next April He will keep the Committee informed The Commit- <br /> tee will share with the developers the results of the economic analysis/consumer sur- <br /> veys once the analyses are completed <br /> MAPC economic analysis is not ready as yet Should be available within 10 days The <br /> consumer survey is about done -- the open ended questions are being coded now <br /> Bob Sacco reported for the Parking Garage Sub-committee that they had checked into <br /> possible sources of funding None seem to be available except for the CARD program <br /> Without such outside funding a municipal garage would have to charge between $4-6 <br /> per day for a space which the Committee did not think was feasible Mr Sacco will <br /> send along our parking program to a consultant in Cambridge wiht whom he has been <br /> talking to get his analysis <br /> Laura Nichols was appointed chairman of the land use sub-committee Jack Powell is <br /> chairman of the urban design-beautification sub-committee <br /> The meeting adjourned at approximately 2 00 P.M <br /> Jacquie Smith <br />
