1 <br /> LEXINGTON CENTER REVITALIZATION COMMITTEE <br /> MEETING OF SEPTEMBER 10, 1981 <br /> The Center Revitalization Committee convened at noon on September 10, <br /> 1981 Present were Marge Battin, Bob Sacco, Jacquie Smith, Laura Nichols, <br /> Tom Dyer, Fred James and Bob Bowyer Absent were Larry Chait, Joe Trani, <br /> Karsten Sorensen, and Chris Venier <br /> The Committee discussed plans for presentation of proposed parking <br /> rates to the Board of Selectmen and the public It was noted that Sep- <br /> tember 28 is a religious holiday and might not be appropriate for a public <br /> meeting <br /> The Committee then re-evaluated designations of parking areas based on <br /> feedback from Chamber of Commerce representatives and decided on the follow- <br /> ing <br /> Premium -- Meriam Street <br /> Near Premium -- Belfry, Arts & Crafts, Church of Our Redeemer <br /> Mid Range -- Hancock, School Administration <br /> Fringe -- Muzzey Jr High <br /> DPW representatives then requested guidance for setting up regulations I <br /> regarding hours Committee agreed as follows <br /> "To charge from. 8 00 A.M. to 6 00 P.M. daily and not restrict parking <br /> during other hours " <br /> Marge then polled Committee on rate for Meriam Street lot meters (and <br /> other all-day meters) and committee agreed to $0.75 as maximum rate per day, <br /> at increments of 05 per z hour It was also agreed that ticket machine <br /> should be capable of registering from 8 00 A.M. even if coin is inserted be- <br /> fore that time to allow for persons arriving early in the morning <br /> Committee then discussed permit rates for the various categories It <br /> was agreed as follows <br /> Premium and Near Premium Permit -- $156 00/year <br /> Mid Range -- $120 00/year <br /> Fringe -- $ 72 00/year <br /> Subcommittee was appointed consisting of Bob Sacco and Jacquie Smith <br /> to evaluate Public Relations requirements of CRC Parking Program implementa- <br /> tion <br /> Committee then discussed MAPC request to do survey of businesses on <br /> September 14 <br /> 1 <br />
