<br /> <br /> <br />Town Celebrations Committee <br />Minutes of Meeting <br />February 7, 2024 <br />By Zoom Teleconference <br /> <br />Members Present: <br />Glen Bassett and Geetha Padaki, Co-Chairs; Sandy Podgorski, Lorain Marquis, Sue Stering, <br />Cerise Jalelian, Sondra Lucente, Linda Dixon, Yifang Gong, Sudha Balasuryan, Bonnie <br />Karshbaum, Hong Xie, Ashley Rooney, Pan Winters, Dave Grabel <br />Members not Present: Steve Cole, Kevin Collins, Dabby Harter, Mary Hutton, Julie Miller, <br />Guest: William Carlson (Lions Club) <br />Business <br /> Meeting called to order by Geetha Padaki at 7:03 pm <br /> The minutes of Jan 24th’s meeting were reviewed, corrected, and approved unanimously. <br /> <br />Patriots’ Day Planning <br /> The stakeholder meeting will be held 2/15/2024. Everyone is welcome in person or <br />online. <br />o Glen shared the meeting agenda on screen. Logistical leader Steve Cole. We will <br />consider adding additional restrooms/porta-potties. <br />o From the Lexington Minute Men, the reenactment will be altered: instead of <br />women running after the dead and injured, it will show civilian evacuation. <br /> Youth Parade: Bonnie Karshbaum prepared a draft of invitations to youth organizations, <br />including police, Minute Men, and fire department. Some parade units can be awarded <br />and recognized in the afternoon parade. <br /> Ceremony: Everything is fine for the expected Masters of Ceremonies. Lexington Minute <br />Men will present an award/scholarship this year. Todd Angilly, The Voice of the Boston <br />Bruins, will sing the national anthem. <br /> Grand Marshal recommendation: 9 members voted for Jeff, Leonard and 4 for Jim Shaw. <br />Jeff Leonard will be our first choice. Steve Cole volunteered to contact Jeff Leonard, and <br />ask him to be the Grand Marshal. <br />Lex250 updates by Cerise <br /> Lex250 will establish a guideline for VIP tickets <br /> The town hired a PR firm to take over all PR activities. <br /> Purchased four life-size fiberglass horses: an artistic project themed as riding through <br />history. <br /> <br />
