This Report embraces the account of the Selectmen's
settlement with the Treasurer, from April 30, 1857, to May
3, 1858.

ITEMS OF EXPENSES NOT DRAWN FROM TIIE
TREASURER LAST YEAR.
The Auditors find the following bills which properly belong
to the expenses of last year, that were not paid until after
the settlement with the Treasurer, therefore will be drawn
from the Treasurer the present year. This state of the
accounts is inevitable, from the fact that bills for articles
furnished, and service rendered during one year, are kept
back until after the expiration of the year to which they are
properly chargeable.

Extract from the Report of the Overseers of the Poor.
The whole number of paupers at the Almshouse during the
year, has been 63 ; of this number 7 have been in the house
during the whole year, and 1 has been boarded out of the
house 41 weeks, 5 days, making whole number of weeks
board furnished paupers, 552.
The average weekly cost of supporting paupers at the
Almshouse, not including the interest on farm and buildings,
has been $ 1.61 per week.
* This error was made by deducting this amount from bill when paid,
and also putting it on credit side of whole account.
