REPORT OF TOWN CLERK 125 <br />REPORT OF THE PLANNING BOARD ON THE FOLLOWING PRO- <br />POSED AMENDMENT AS IT APPEARS UNDER ARTICLE 33 IN <br />THE WARRANT FOR THE TOWN MEETING TO BE HELD <br />MARCH 1, 1937 <br />To substitute for the Amendment to the Zoning Law <br />adopted by the Town at the Town Meeting November 7, <br />1930, which reads, <br />"Voted :—That the town amend the Lexington Zoning <br />By -Law and map by changing from an R.1 district to a <br />C.1 district the plot of land owned by Ethel W. Bean and <br />located on the easterly side of Bedford Street, northwest <br />of property of said name at 241 Bedford Street, said plot <br />extending easterly two hundred (200) feet; thence turn- <br />ing and running in a northerly direction three hundred <br />(300) feet; thence turning and running southwesterly <br />two hundred fifty (250) feet to Bedford Street; thence <br />turning and running southeasterly along Bedford Street <br />two hundred forty-seven (247) feet to the point of be- <br />ginning and comprising one and three eighths (1%) <br />acres of land more or less." <br />The following paragraph to be placed in Section 3, <br />under the heading "In C.1 Districts :—" <br />22. Beginning at a point in the northeasterly side Iine <br />of Bedford Street, said point being southeasterly and dis- <br />tant 219.04 feet from the southeasterly terminus of a <br />curve of radius 1513.11 feet; thence running northeast- <br />erly distant 200 feet ; thence turning and running north- <br />westerly distant 300 feet ; thence turning and running <br />southwesterly distant 250 feet to the northeasterly side <br />line of Bedford Street; thence turning and running by <br />said side line of Bedford Street, southeasterly distant 247 <br />feet to the point of beginning and comprising 1% acres <br />of land more or less. <br />126 TOWN OF LEXINGTON <br />A public hearing was held on February 19, 1937, on <br />the proposed amendment, after the notices given in ac- <br />cordance with the Lexington Zoning By -Laws, and the <br />Planning Board now submits a final report with recom- <br />mendations to the Town. <br />The wording of the present amendment is not in ac- <br />cord <br />ccord with similar sections of the By -Law and does not <br />provide a satisfactory description of the metes and <br />bounds. <br />The proposed amendment is advanced by the Plan- <br />ning Board to correct these features and will not change <br />the classification, uses or location of the present zone in <br />any manner. <br />The Planning Board recommends to the Town that <br />this amendment be adopted. <br />NEIL H.
