To see if the Town will vete to appropriate <br />a. sum sufficient to pay the County of Middlesex, as required <br />by law, the Town's share of the net cost of the care, main- <br />tenance, and repair of the Middlesex County Tuberculosis <br />Hospital, as assessed in accordance with the provisions of <br />Chapter 111 of the General Laws, and Acts in amendment <br />thereof and in addition thereto, or take any action in rela- <br />tion thereto. <br />Under this Article. the Appropriation Committee recom- <br />mends the appropriation of the sum of $3,702.31. <br />Article 12. To see if the Town will vote to transfer the <br />sum of $1,438.23 received from Middlesex County for dog <br />fees to the Cary Memorial Library Account. <br />Under this Article the Appropriation Committee recom- <br />mends the transfer of the sum of $1,438.23 to the Cary <br />Memorial Library Expense Account. <br />Article 13. To see if the Town will vote to appropriate <br />money to pay the necessary expenses of the Superintendent <br />of Schools incurred outside the Commonwealth in securing <br />information upon matters in which the Town is interested or <br />which may tend to improve the service in the School De- <br />partment. <br />Under this Article the Appropriation Committee recom- <br />mends the appropriation of the sum of $120.00. <br />Article 14. To see if the Town will vote to appropriate <br />a sum of money to defray expense incurred in the defense of <br />the cases of Ryder v. Town of Lexington, which pertain to <br />Vine Brook Drainage. <br />Under this Article the Appropriation Committee recom- <br />mends the appropriation of the sum of $1000.00. <br />Article 15. To see if the Town will vote to transfer un- <br />expended appropriation balances in any of the accounts to <br />the Excess and Deficiency Account, or take any other action <br />in. relation thereto. <br />72 <br />TOWN OF LEXINGTON <br />Under this Article the Appropriation Committee recom- <br />mends that transfers be made to the Excess and Deficiency <br />Account as follows: <br />From Collector's Dept.—Binding Records <br />From Insect and Tree Dept.—Power <br />Sprayer Account <br />From Westview Cemetery—Dwelling <br />Repair Account <br />$88.00 <br />10.83 <br />15.00 <br />The Appropriation Committee also recommends the fol- <br />lowing transfer: <br />From Water Construction—Bedford Street <br />and Massachusetts Avenue Account to Water <br />Construction Sundry Streets Account .... $39.51 <br />Article 16. To see if the Town will vote to establish as <br />a town way, or accept the layout of as a town way, Robbins <br />Road, from Locust Avenue to Lexington Avenue, a distance <br />of approximately 790 feet, as laid out by the Selectmen, un- <br />der the Betterment Act, and shown upon a certain plan on <br />file in the office of the Town Clerk, dated January 16, 1937, <br />and to take by eminent domain the necessary easements <br />therefor, and appropriate money for the construction of <br />said street, or act in any manner in relation thereto. <br />Under this Article the Appropriation Committee recom- <br />mends the appropriation of the sum of $5,400.00. <br />Article 17. To see if the Town will vote to install sewer <br />mains in such accepted or unaccepted streets as may be ap- <br />plied for during the year 1937 in accordance with St. 1897, <br />Ch. 504, as amended, or otherwise, and to take by eminent <br />domain any necessary easements therefor, and to appropri- <br />ate money for said installation of mains by direct appropri- <br />ation or by transfer from other funds. <br />The Appropriation Committee recommends that the sub- <br />stance of this Article be adopted and that the sum of <br />$1,700.00 be appropriated and transferred from the Sewer <br />Assessment Fund. <br />
