REPORT OF TOWN CLERK 89 <br />from Marrett Road in a northeasterly direction, to be expend- <br />ed in conjunction with money to be contributed by the Corn- <br />monwealth and the County. <br />Article 9. To see if the Town will vote to make provisions <br />for the disposal of surface drainage in Hancock Street and <br />private lands by the construction of drains or conduits or the <br />'diversion or relocation of brooks, and for that purpose take <br />lands or easements by eminent domain, and provide for the pay- <br />ment therefor by direct appropriation or by the transfer from <br />other funds. <br />Article 10. To see if the Town will vote to appropriate <br />and transfer from Water Department Available Surplus the <br />sum of $155.95 for an unpaid bill for Water Maintenance for <br />the year 1.934, or act in any manner relating thereto. <br />Article 11. To see if the Town will vote to authorize the <br />Selectmen to construct granolithic sidewalks where the abut- <br />ting owner pays one-half the cost, and provide funds for said <br />construction by transfer from other funds. <br />Article 12. To see if the Town will vote to transfer unex- <br />pended balances in various accounts to the Excess and De- <br />ficiency Account. <br />Article 13. To see if the Town will vote to establish as a <br />town way or accept the layout of as a town way, Kendall Road <br />from Marrett Road to hilltop Avenue, a distance of approx- <br />imately 1101 :feet, as laid out by the Selectmen under the Better- <br />ment Act, and shown upon a certain plan on file in the office <br />of the Town Clerk, dated Sept. 26, 1934, and to take by eminent <br />domain the necessary casements therefor, and appropriate <br />money for the construction of said street, or act in any manner <br />relating thereto. <br />Article 14. To sec if the Town will vote to establish as a <br />town way or accept the layout of as a town way, F'armcrest <br />Avenue from Waltham Street, a distance of 1430 feet, as laid <br />out by the Selectmen, under the Betterment Act, and shown <br />upon a certain plan on file in the office of the Town Clerk, <br />dated Sept. 26, 1934, and to take by eminent domain the neces- <br />sary easements therefor, and appropriate money for the con- <br />struction of said street, or act in any manner relating thereto. <br />90 TOWN OF LEXINGTON <br />Article 15. To see if the Town will vote to transfer the sum <br />of .7,740.12 from the Maturing Debt Account to the Excess <br />and Deficiency Account. <br />Article 16. To see if the Town will appropriate a.n •a.ddi- <br />tional sum of money for Public Welfare and to authorize the <br />same to be transferred from surplus revenue. <br />Article 17. To see if the Town will appropriate an addi- <br />tional sum of money for Forest Fires and to authorize the sane <br />to be transferred from surplus revenue. <br />Article 18. To see if the Town will appropriate an addi- <br />tional suns of money for Soldiers' Relief and to authorize the <br />came to be transferred from surplus revenue. <br />Article 19. To see if the Town will vote to appropriate and <br />transfer from other accounts funds for surface drainage in <br />Lowell Street and Westminster Avenue by the construction of <br />drains or conduits. <br />Article 20. To see if the Town will vote to appropriate <br />and transfer from other accounts the sum of $908.60 to pay the <br />hill of Anthony Ross & Son for work done for the Park Depart- <br />ment and Highway Department in 1929 and 1930, or net in any <br />manner relating thereto. <br />Article 21. To see if the Town will vote to appropriate and <br />transfer the sura of $22.7:5 for an unpaid bill of the Police De- <br />partment for the year 1934, or act in any manner relating <br />thereto. <br />Article 22. To see if the Town will determine the situa- <br />tion of a new High School building and will authorize the. Se- <br />lectmen to acquire by purchase or take by Eminent Domain <br />land for the purpose of such new building and other appropri- <br />ate school purposes, or for the purpose of a park, playground <br />or recreation center, and provide for payment for t]ie same by <br />direct appropriation, by transfer from other accounts, or by <br />the issue of bonds or notes of the Town in accordance with law. <br />Article 23. To see if the Town will appoint a building com- <br />mittee to procure plans and estimates for the construction of <br />a new high school and provide money for necessary architectur- <br />
