ANNUAL REPORTS 57 <br />TOWN WARRANT <br />COMMONWEALTH OF MASSACHUSETTS MIDDLESEX, SS. <br />To either of the Constables of the Town of Lexington, in said <br />County, Greeting: <br />In the name of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, you <br />are directed to notify the inhabitants of the Town of Lex- <br />ington, qualified to vote in elections and in town affairs, to <br />meet in their respective voting places in said town, <br />Precinct One, Emerson Hall; Precinct Two, Three and Four, <br />Cary Memorial Hall, on <br />TUESDAY, THE THIRTEENTH DAY OF JUNE, A. D. 1933 <br />at 2:00 o'clock P. M., for the following purposes: <br />To bring in their votes to the Election Officers for the <br />Election of Delegates to a Constitutional Convention called <br />to Ratify or Reject the Following Amendment to the Con- <br />stitution of the United States, proposed by Joint Resolution <br />of Congress: <br />Text of the Proposed Amendment: <br />"Section 1. The eighteenth article of amendment to the <br />Constitution of the United States is hereby repealed." <br />"Section 2. The transportation or importation into any <br />State, Territory, or possession of the United States for de- <br />livery or use therein of intoxicating liquors, in violation of <br />the laws thereof, is hereby prohibited." <br />"Section 3. This article shall be inoperative unless it <br />shall have been ratified as an amendment to the Constitution <br />by conventions in the several States, as provided in the Con- <br />stitution, within seven years from the date of the submis- <br />sion hereof to the States by the Congress." <br />58 TOWN OF LEXINGTON <br />And to vote on the following question: <br />"Shall licenses be granted in this town for the sale therein <br />of wines and malt beverages?" <br />The polls will be open from two o'clock P. M. until eight <br />o'clock P. M. <br />And you are directed to serve this Warrant seven days <br />at least before the time of said meeting as provided in the <br />By-laws of the Town. <br />Hereof, fail not, and make due return of this Warrant, <br />with your doings thereon, to the Town Clerk, on or before <br />the time of said meeting. <br />Given under our hands, at Lexington, this twenty-ninth <br />day of May, A. LYONS, <br />Selectmen of Lexington. <br />CONSTABLE'S RETURN <br />June 6, 1933. <br />To the Town Clerk: <br />I have notified the inhabitants of Lexington by posting <br />printed copies of the foregoing Warrant in the Post Office, <br />in the vestibule of the Town Office Building and six other <br />public places in the Town, and by mailing a printed copy of <br />the same to every registered voter in the Town seven days <br />before the time of said meeting. <br />Attest: <br />PATRICK J.
