<br />be and hereby is authorized to issue
<br />and to sell under the direction and
<br />with the approval of the Selectmen
<br />negotiable coupon bonds of the town
<br />in serial form to the aggregate princi-
<br />pal sum of $20,000 to bear interest
<br />at a rate not to exceed 6% per an-
<br />num, payable semi-annually and both
<br />principal and interest to be payable
<br />in gold coin of the United States of
<br />America of the present standard of
<br />weight and fineness, such bonds to
<br />be signed by the Treasurer and
<br />countersigned by a majority of the
<br />Selectmen, with maturities so ar-
<br />ranged that $4000.00 of the principal
<br />shall fall due and payable one year
<br />after the date of the bonds and
<br />$4000.00 annually thereafter until
<br />said bonds are paid in full.
<br />This motion was passed by a unan-

<br />The meeting was called to order by
<br />the Moderator at 7:33 P. M.
<br />On motion of Robert H. Holt, it
<br />was voted that this meeting be now
<br />adjourned to the special meeting
<br />called by warrant of the Selectmen,
<br />under date of April 120921, and to
<br />be held in the Town Hall, Monday
<br />evening, April 25, 1921, at half -past
<br />seven o'clock, and that the remainder
<br />of the present meeting be held con-
<br />currentlylwith said special meeting.
<br />Meeting adjourned at 7:35 P. M.

<br />WARRANT FOR TOWN MEETING
<br />April 25, 1921
<br />Commonwealth of Massachusetts
<br />To either of the Constables of the
<br />town of Lexington, in said County,
<br />Greeting:
<br />in the name of the Commonwealth
<br />of Massachusetts, you are directed to
<br />notify the inhabitants of the town of
<br />Lexington, qualified to vote in elec-
<br />tions and in town affairs, to meet in
<br />the Town Hall, in said Lexington, on
<br />Monday, the twenty-fifth day of
<br />April, A. D., 1921, at seven -thirty
<br />P. M., then and there to act on the
<br />following articles:
<br />Art. 1. To receive the report of
<br />any Board of Town Officers or of any
<br />Committee of the Town for action
<br />thereon, and to appoint other Com-
<br />mittees.
<br />Art. 2. To see if the Town will
<br />make further appropriation of money
<br />for the suppression of Insects, or act
<br />in any manner relating thereto.
<br />Art. 3. To see if the Town will
<br />make a further appropriation for
<br />the Soliers' Relief Account, or act in
<br />any manner relating thereto.
<br />Art, 4. To see if the Town will
<br />make an appropriation for interest on
<br />Debt, or act in any manner relating
<br />thereto.
<br />Middlesex, ss.
<br />Art. 5. To see if the Town will
<br />make an appropriation to light the
<br />Clock at the Pollen Church, or act
<br />in any manner relating thereto.
<br />Art. 6. To see if the Town will
<br />appropriate $800 for the use of the
<br />Police Department, or act in any
<br />manner relating thereto.
<br />Art. 7. To see if the Town will
<br />rescind the vote passed at the ad-
<br />journed Town Meeting held March
<br />28, 1921 whereby it was voted:—
<br />"That the Board of Water and Sewer
<br />Commissioners be instructed to lay
<br />water mains in Carville Ave. and
<br />Butler Ave., and that four thousand
<br />dollars ($4000) be appropriated and
<br />assessed therefor, and that the usual .
<br />10% .guarantee shall not be required
<br />of the owners of land abutting on
<br />said streets."
<br />Art. 8. To see if the Town will
<br />vote to install water mains on Carville
<br />Avenue from Oak Street to Butler
<br />Avenue, a distance of about nine
<br />hundred feet, on Butler Avenue from
<br />Carville Avenue to Baker Avenue a
<br />disrtance of about six hundred and
<br />sixty feet, and to provide money for
<br />the same by the issuance of Bonds,
<br />Notes or direct appropriations, or
