TOWN CLERK'S RECORDS <br />Charles R. Putnam was declared <br />elected, as Director. <br />Art. 43. Under this article, Francis <br />J. Toye offered the following motion. <br />Voted that the Board of Water and <br />Sewer Commissioners be instructed <br />to lay water mains in Carville Ave.). <br />and Butler Ave., and that four thous- <br />and dollars ($4000.) be appropriated <br />and assessed therefor and that the <br />usual 10% guarantee shall not be <br />required of the owners of land abutt- <br />ing on said streets. <br />An Amendment was offered by <br />William H. Burgess, that the usual <br />10% guarantee be required. <br />This amendment was lost. <br />After a general discussion, the <br />original motion was carried. <br />Yes, 181. No, 50. Vote passed <br />at 9:05 P. M. <br />Art. 8. On motion of Robert H. <br />Holt, Article 8 was taken from the <br />table, and Mr. Holt there offered the <br />following motion, Voted, that the <br />sum of $3000.00 be appropriated and <br />assessed for the support of the Poor <br />at the Almshouse for the ensuing year. <br />Vote passed at 9:13 P. M. <br />Art. 40. Under this article, John <br />A. Wiggins offered this motion, That <br />the following streets be accepted, <br />Wilson Ave., and Cliffe Ave. from <br />Bow Street to Melrose Ave., a dist- <br />ance of approximately 1000 ft. on <br />each street. <br />After extended remarks for and <br />against this article, it was finally, on <br />27 <br />amendment of Arthur E. Horton <br />laid on the table. <br />Vote pawed 10:08 P. M. <br />Art. 33. William M. Aquaro, un- <br />der this article offered the following <br />vote, Voted, that the Selectmen be <br />instructed to place and maintain <br />an Electric Light at the corner of <br />Rindge and Rawson Avenues. <br />On motion of William S. Scamman <br />this article was indefinitely post- <br />poned. Vote passed at 10:15 P. M. <br />Art. 4. Under this article, Ed- <br />ward C. Stone offered the following <br />vote, Voted, that a Committee of <br />three be appointed by the Moderator <br />to consider the matter of furnishing <br />lights on the following streets: Wilson <br />Avenue, Cliffe Avenue from Bow <br />Street to Melrose Avenue and report <br />its recommendations if any, at the <br />next adjourned meeting or there- <br />after. <br />Vote passed unanimously at 10:22 <br />P. HATCH, <br />Town Clerk. <br />28 TOWN OF LEXINGTON <br />FOURTH ADJOURNED TOWN MEETING <br />April 4, 1921. <br />The meeting was called to order at <br />7:35 P. M. by the Moderator. <br />Art. 31. On motion of Robert H. <br />Holt, the vote offered under this <br />article, March 28, 1921, was taken <br />from the table. Frederick L. Emery <br />offered the following amendment, <br />Voted, that $1600.00 be appropriated <br />and that the Committee be instructed <br />to layout an additional part of the <br />cemetery and to sell lots from plans <br />thereof to raise additional money <br />needed. <br />Mr. W. R. Greeley's motion to <br />indefinitely postpone this article was <br />lost. <br />Mr. F. L. Emery's amendment was <br />accepted at 8:17 P. M. by a rising <br />vote. Yes 90. No. 87. <br />The original motion as amended, <br />was then passed at 8:18 P. M., which <br />reads as follows: <br />Voted, that the sum of $1800.00 be <br />appropriated and assessed for the <br />construction of the New Cemetery at <br />North Lexington, and that the Com- <br />mittee be instructed to layout an <br />additional part of the cemetery and <br />to sell lots from plans thereof to <br />raise additional money needed. <br />Art. 46-48 & 49. On motion of <br />Robert H. Holt, Articles 46, 48 & <br />49 were referred for consideration to <br />the Committee on Highways ap- <br />pointed March 21, 1921. <br />Art. 44. On motion of Robert H. <br />Holt, it was Voted, that Article 44 <br />be indefinitely postponed. Vote <br />passed at 8:28 P. M. <br />Art. 34. Mr. William S. Scamman <br />offered the following motion, Voted, <br />that the Town accept that portion of <br />Pelham Road at its junction with <br />Massachusetts Avenue as laid out by <br />the Selectmen under an order dated <br />January 25, 1921. Accepted and <br />vote passed at 7:45 P. M. <br />Following is the order and Reloca- <br />tion at its junction of Pelham Road <br />with Massachusetts Avenue and at <br />land of the heirs of James S. Munroe. <br />We, the Selectmen of Lexington <br />having decided that public conven- <br />ience and necessity require a reloca- <br />tion of Pelham Road at its junction <br />with Massachusetts Avenue, and at <br />land of the heirs of James S. Munroe <br />gave notice on January 18, 1921 <br />to the resident owner of land over <br />which said relocation is intended of <br />our intention to relocate the same, <br />and we now having met at the time <br />and place, and for the purpose speci- <br />fied in said notice relocate said por- <br />tion of Pelham Road and fix the <br />boundaries and measurements of said <br />
