citizens, two of whom shall be from East Lexington, to investigate <br />and report to the town with reference to a suitable location and <br />plans for a new grammar school, to be located in East Lexington, <br />and that the sum of $300.00 be appropriated and assessed for the <br />use of said committee." <br />And the town so voted. <br />The Moderator appointed the following committee : Frederick G. <br />Jones, Dwight F. Kilgour, Frank D. Peirce, Jay 0. Richards and <br />Abram C. Washburn. <br />ART. 5. New fire alarm box. <br />Under this article B. J. Harrington offered the following motion :-- <br />" Voted, that the sum of $65.00 be appropriated and assessed for <br />the purpose of installing a fire alarm box on Lincoln street as called <br />for in Art. 5 of the Warrant for this meeting." <br />And the town so voted. <br />ARTS. 15, 16, 17. Relating to new fire apparatus, repairs at <br />Engine House and sale of present fire apparatus. <br />Voted that no action be taken on Articles 15, 16, and 17. <br />ART. 2. Under this article the chairman of the Finance Com- <br />mittee made a short verbal report regarding the collection of water <br />rates by the Town Treasurer, stating that nothing could be done <br />until the present by-laws were changed. <br />Frederick L. Emery made a report for the committee on by-laws, <br />and deposited a copy of the proposed new by-laws with the Town <br />Clerk. <br />The town voted that the report be accepted and the committee <br />discharged. <br />ART. 11. <br />Relating to new by-laws. <br />43 <br />Under this article Frederick L. Emery offered the following <br />motion :— <br />"— <br />" Voted, that a committee of three be appointed by the Moder- <br />ator, of which committee the Moderator shall be one, to prepare <br />and present a new code of by-laws to the town." <br />And the town so voted. <br />The Moderator appointed the following: Edwin A. Bayley, Arthur <br />L. Blodgett, Chas. W. Swan. <br />ART. 4. Minor officers. <br />Under this article George W. Spaulding and Edgar W. Harrod <br />were elected surveyors of lumber. <br />ART. 8. New cemetery. <br />Under this article Dr. Fred S. Piper offered the following motion :— <br />" Voted, <br />—"Voted, that the Moderator be authorized to appoint a committee <br />of five persons, which shall include one or more members of the <br />present cemetery committee, to consider the needs of the town for <br />a new cemetery, and such committee be requested to report with <br />recommendations at the next town meeting." <br />And the town so voted. <br />The Moderator appointed the following committee : Patrick F. <br />Dacey, Charles G. Kauffmann, Arthur A. Marshall, Fred S. Piper <br />and William C. Stickel. <br />ART. 13. To confirm a vote passed Jan. 17, 1911. <br />Under this article Alonzo E. Locke offered the following:— <br />" Voted, that all the provisions of the vote which was passed at <br />the town meeting held on Jan. 17, 1911, purporting to authorize the <br />issue and sale of ten (10) negotiable coupon serial bonds of the <br />town for one thousand dollars each, are hereby ratified and con- <br />firmed." <br />
