In the name of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, you are <br />directed to notify the inhabitants of the town of Lexington qualified <br />to vote in elections and in town affairs, to meet at the Town Hall, <br />in said Lexington, on Saturday, the twenty-ninth day of April, A. D., <br />1911, at 7.30 p. m., then and there to act on the following articles : <br />ARTICLE 1. To choose a moderator to preside in said meeting. <br />ART. 2. To hear and act upon the report of any committees <br />ready to report, or appoint other committees. <br />ART. 3. To see if the town will give special instructions to the <br />Auditor and Treasurer regarding the approval and payment of bills <br />for the suppression of insects, and act thereon. <br />ART, 4. To choose such town officers as are required by law and <br />are usually chosen by nomination- <br />ART. 5. To see if the town will make an appropriation for the <br />purpose of installing a fire alarm box on Lincoln street between <br />Parker street and School street, and take action thereon. <br />ART. 6. To see if the town will vote to improve the area now <br />concreted in front of the Town Hall, in accordance with plans <br />recommended by the Lexington Field and Garden Club, and assess <br />and appropriate money for the same, or act in any manner relating <br />thereto. <br />ART. 7. To see what action the town will take towards procuring <br />a suitable location for a new school house, and making an appropri- <br />ation to obtain plans for a new school building in East Lexington, or <br />act in any manner relating thereto. <br />ART. 8. To see what action the town will take relative to a new <br />cemetery, or increasing cemetery accommodations, and to provide <br />means for paying for the same, or act in any manner thereto. <br />ART. 9. To see if the town will vote to accept Chapter 191 of <br />the Acts of 1907, authorizing the establishment of boards of survey <br />in towns, or act in any manner relating thereto. , <br />39 <br />ART. 10. To see if the town will vote to adopt by-laws regulating <br />the inspection, materials, construction, alteration and use of build- <br />ings or other structures within its limits, in accordance with the <br />provisions of the Revised Laws already accepted by the town, or act <br />in any manner relating thereto. <br />ART. 11. To hear the report of the committee heretofore ap- <br />pointed with reference to the codification, modification, or additions <br />to the by-laws of the town, or act in any manner relating thereto. <br />ART. 12. To see whether the town will provide to have its by- <br />laws codified. published and distributed among the citizens of the <br />town, or act in any manner relating thereto. <br />ART. 13. To ratify and confirm the action of the town taken <br />at the meeting held Jan. 17th, 1911, in relation to issuing ten (10) <br />negotiable coupon serial bonds for one thousand dollars each, the <br />proceeds to be used for the extension of water mains ; or to take <br />any other or further action in regard to the issue or sale of bonds <br />for said purpose. <br />ART. 14. To see what provisions the town will take for the pay- <br />ment of the salary of the Town Treasurer; to make an appropri- <br />ation for the same, or act in any manner relating thereto. <br />ART. 15. To hear the report of the committee appointed to <br />investigate the advisability of purchasing automobile fire apparatus <br />for the town, or act in any manner relating thereto. <br />ART. 16. To see if the town will vote to repair, remodel, or <br />reconstruct its present Centre Engine House, and appropriate <br />money therefor, or act in any manner relating thereto. <br />ART. 17. To see if the town will vote to sell or dispose of the <br />whole or any part of its present fire apparatus and equipment and to <br />purchase an automobile fire engine in place thereof, and appropriate <br />money therefor, or act in any manner relating thereto. <br />40 <br />
