27 <br />Voters That about 250 feet of a new street leading in a westerly <br />direction, off Highland Avenue, near the house of William A. Smith, <br />be..accepted by the town when the same has been graded and <br />deeded to the Town of Lexington to the satisfaction of the <br />Selectmen. <br />ART. 23. On motion of Robert P. Clapp it was <br />Voted, That the town approves House Bill No. 1092 pending <br />before the present session of the Legislature, and that the Selectmen, <br />Water and Sewer Commissioners are hereby requested to procure if <br />possible the enactment of said bill in substantially its present form <br />into a law. <br />ART. 24. Voted, That the sum of $2500 be appropriated and <br />assessed to be expended by the School Committee in renovating the <br />heating and ventilating plant in the Hancock School. <br />ART. 27. On motion of William H. Whitaker it was <br />Voted, To give the name of Winter Street to the old County <br />road leading From Bedford Street to the Bedford town line. <br />ART. 29. On motion of Alonzo E. Locke it was <br />Voted, That Article 29 be indefinitely postponed. <br />ART. 30. On motion of George O. Whiting it was <br />Voted, That Article 30 be indefinitely postponed. <br />ART. 32. On motion of Christopher S. On motion of Arthur L. Blodgett it was <br />Voted, That the thanks of the town be extended to the com- <br />mittee of citizens and especially to Representative Edwin A. Bayley, <br />for their increasing and well directed efforts which have resulted in <br />preventing the locating within the borders of Lexington of a hospital <br />for voluntary mental patients as proposed by the State Board of <br />Insanity. The town would also place on record its appreciation of <br />the interest shown and assistance rendered by patriotic citizens of <br />the whole Commonwealth. <br />On motion of Francis H. Holmes it was <br />Voted, That the thanks of the town are hereby extended to Dr. <br />Robert M. Lawrence of Boston for his generous and public spirited <br />attitude in opposition to the use of his property known as "Fair <br />Oaks" for a hospital for voluntary mental patients, as proposed by <br />the State Board of Insanity, and it is further 'oted that the Town <br />Clerk be instructed to forward a copy of this vote to Dr. Lawrence - <br />On motion of Arthur L.
