To see if the town will appoint a committee to act with <br />the Selectmen to consider rearranging the town offices, and the room <br />formerly occupied by Cary Library, also to consider the nutter of <br />heating the Town Hall building with steam, and making necessary <br />repairs on same, or act in any manner relating thereto. <br />ART. 25. To see if the town will appropriate the sum of $50.00 <br />for the purpose of placing a memorial stone with a suitable inscrip- <br />tion thereon in the monument to be built at Provincetown commem- <br />orating the landing of the Pilgrims, and the signing of the compact <br />in Provincetown harbor, this amount to be taken from the conting- <br />ent grant. <br />ART. 26. To provide for establishing and constructing a sewer- <br />age system, and to provide for the raising of funds for that purpose ; <br />also to vote to issue bonds as authorized by Chapter 504 of the <br />Acts of 1897 and Chapter 3f..9 of the Acts of 1906 amending the <br />same; and to take such further or other action relative to the in- <br />troduction and construction of sewers and to the providing of means <br />with which to pay therefor as may be deemed best. <br />Hereof fail not, and make due return of this Warrant, with your <br />doings thereon, to the Town Clerk on or before the time of said <br />meeting. <br />Given under our hands, at Lexington, this eighteenth day of Feb- <br />ruary, A. WOODWARD, <br />Selectmen of Lexiirgtan. <br />MEETING MARCH 4, 1907. <br />Meeting called to order by the Town Clerk at 7.05 o'clock, a. m,, <br />who proceeded to read the Warrant. After reading Article 1, an <br />22 <br />motion of Irving Stone it was unanimously voted to dispense with <br />the further reading of the Warrant. The Town Clerk then read the <br />return of the Constable thereon. <br />ARTICLE 1. On motion of George W. 'Taylor it was <br />Voted, To elect a Moderator by ballot ; that the check list be <br />used, and that the polls be kept open one minute. At the close of <br />the polls four ballots had been cast, all for Edwin A. Bayley, and he <br />was declared elected and was sworn by the Town Clerk. <br />ARTS. 2 and 3. .Abram B. Smith and Charles W. Swan having <br />been appointed Ballot Clerks, were sworn by the Town Clerk and <br />receipted to him for a package said to contain 900 official ballots <br />for male voters, and a package said to contain 300 official ballots <br />for female voters, also a check list for male and female voters. <br />• living Stone and James A. Hurley having been appointed Deputy <br />Ballot Clerks, were sworn by the Town Clerk. The ballot box was <br />shown to be empty, then locked, and the key delivered to Charles <br />E. Wheeler, the Constable in charge, and the Moderator then de- <br />clared the polls open. Samuel B. Bigelow, Lucius A. Austin, G. <br />Irving Tuttle, Henry E. Woodward, Daniel J. Vaughan, George L. <br />Pierce, Cornelius F. O'Conner and Bradley C. Whitcher having been <br />appointed Tellers, were sworn by the Town Clerk. At 10.30 <br />o'clock, by order of the Moderator and 'l'own Clerk, the ballot box <br />was opened and 3110 ballots were taken out; at 2.30 o'clock 200 <br />ballots were taken out ; at 3.40 o'clock 100 ballots were taken out ; <br />also 100 ballots of female voters. At 4 o'clock, on motion of Chris- <br />topher S. Ryan it was voted to keep the pods open until 5.30 <br />o'clock. At 4.40 o'clock 50 ballots were taken out. After the <br />close of the polls at 5.30 o'clock 19 ballots of male and 41 ballots <br />of female votes were taken from the boxes. The check list used <br />by the Ballot Clerks showed the natnes of 669 male and 141 female <br />.raters checked. The check Iist used by the Moderator showed the <br />names of 669 males male and 141 female voters checked. The <br />ballot box register stood at 669. After the tellers had completed <br />their work the Town Clerk announced the result as follows : <br />
