<br />Second. That 117 incandescent lamps be supplied to take the
<br />place of the 39 arc lights.
<br />Third. That the rate paid per incandescent lamp per annum be
<br />reduced to an equivalent sum per kilowatt hour, this being accom-
<br />plished by metering the town service.
<br />Fourth. That the Selectmen oversee the proper distribution of
<br />these incandescent lamps.
<br />Fifth. That the company use high efficiency lamps and other
<br />improvements as they come into commercial use.
<br />Sixth. That lamps be renewed when the candle power drops to
<br />80 per cent. of the original rating.
<br />George W. Taylor offered the following substitute motion
<br />That all articles relating to appropriation (except Article 19) be
<br />referred to a committee of fifteen to be appointed by the Moderator,
<br />such committee to include a member of the Board of Selectmen,
<br />Surveyors of Highways, Overseers of the Poor, School Committee,
<br />Assessors, Fire Engineers, Board of Health, Water Commissioners,
<br />and Town Treasurer; that said committee fully consider the subject
<br />of these Articles and report at some adjourned meeting with such
<br />recommendations as they deem prudent.
<br />The substitute motion of Mr. Taylor was put and declared carried,
<br />and the Moderator appointed the following committee :

<br />On motion of George W. Taylor it was
<br />Voted, That Article 4 of the Warrant be considered before the
<br />house for action thereunder at any time during the progress of the
<br />present meeting or at any adjournment hereof when no other busi-
<br />ness is being transacted.
<br />On motion of George W. Taylor it was
<br />Voted, That a committee of nine, including the Selectmen and
<br />Engineers of the Fire Department, be appointed by the Moderator
<br />to investigate the condition of the Hancock Engine House building
<br />and report thereon, with recommendations, at an early date, and the
<br />Moderator appointed the following committee :
