Lexington Town Records. <br />FROM TOWN CLERK'S RECORD. <br />WARRANT FOR A TOWN MEETING. <br />TUESDAY, March 1st, 1904. <br />To WILLIAM B. FOSTER, Constable of Lexington, GREETING : <br />In the name of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts you are <br />hereby required to notify and warn the inhabitants of the Town of <br />Lexington, qualified by law to vote in town affairs, to assemble at the <br />Town Hall, on Tuesday, the first day of March, A. D., 1904, at 7.30 <br />o'clock p. m., to act on the following Articles, viz :— <br />ARTICLE 1. To choose a Moderator to preside at said meeting. <br />ART. 2. To ascertain what the School Committee recommends <br />in regard to a new primary school building. <br />ART. 3. To consider what the parents want for their children, <br />and what the town can afford to do. <br />ART. 4. To take such preliminary action looking toward the <br />erection of a new primary school building as may be thought ex- <br />pedient, but not to appropriate any money for the purpose. <br />14 <br />Hereof fail not, and make due return of this warrant, with your <br />doings thereon, to the Town Clerk on or before the time of said <br />meeting. <br />Given under our hands, at Lexington, this Twentieth Day of Feb- <br />ruary, A. TAYLOR, <br />Selectmen of Lexington. <br />MEETING MARCH 1, 1904. <br />Meeting called to order by the Town Clerk at 7.30 o'clock p. m., <br />who read the warrant and the return of the Constable thereon. <br />ARTICLE 1. On motion of A. C. Stone it was voted that we pro- <br />ceed to elect a Moderator, that the check list be used and that the <br />polls be kept open three minutes. At the close of the polls it was <br />found that nine ballots had been cast, all for Edward C. Stone, and <br />he was declared elected and was sworn by the Town Clerk. <br />ARTS. 2, 3, 4. Francis J. Garrison offered a report of the School <br />Committee in regard to a new primary school building (see report <br />of committee, page 552). On motion of Robert P. Clapp it was <br />voted that the report be received and placed on file. The report <br />was generally discussed, and on motion of Edwin A. Bayley it was <br />voted " that it is the sentiment of this meeting that the present <br />school requirement is for a six -room wooden primary building located <br />somewhere between Winthrop road on the north and Percy road on <br />the south." <br />On motion of R. P. Clapp it was voted "that the School Com- <br />mittee is hereby authorized and requested to prepare in conformity <br />with the general recommendations of the report just submitted, a <br />
