Merriam moved that the report he printed and circu- <br />lated, which was carried. <br />Mr. Janvrin moved that the report be accepted and its recom- <br />mendations adopted, and the town so voted. - <br />ART. 9. To transact any other business that may legally come <br />before said meeting. <br />On motion of Mr. G. W. Sampson <br />Voted, That the Selectmen be appointed to appear before the <br />Legislature and procure a curing act under Article two. <br />Meeting declared adjourned to Monday, Feb. 18, 1901, at 7.30 <br />o'clock p. m. <br />AIDJOURNED MEETING, FEBRUARY 18, 1901. <br />Meeting called to order by the moderator at 7.35 p. in. <br />ART. 7. Mr. R. P. Clapp for the committee appointed at last <br />meeting to bring in a report on a High School building and Primary <br />School building, said that they had held several meetings, had con- <br />sulted an architect, and tried to obtain some information to lay <br />before the town, and had also considered whether it was better to <br />build two school houses or one large one. Mr. Clapp asked that <br />the committee might he continued and given more time to obtain <br />information. The committee were a unit that the High School <br />building should be an ornament to the town. <br />Mr. E. A. Bayley followed Mr. Clapp in the same line of remarks, <br />and on his motion it was <br />26 <br />Voted, That the special committee appointed "to bring in a <br />report on a High School building and a Primary School building," <br />are hereby requested to present to the town with as little delay as <br />possible, definite plans and estimates for the erection of one or more <br />school buildings to accommodate the High school, and to relieve the <br />present crowded condition of the Hancock school, and that, and for <br />this purpose, the town appropriate the suin of two hundred and <br />fifty dollars, so much thereof as may be found necessary, to he ex- <br />pended by said committee in securing said plans and estimates. <br />ART. 8. Mr. G. W. Sampson said that at the annual meeting of <br />last year a committee was appointed to consider the extension of <br />water supply, or the joining of the Metropolitan Water System, and <br />called upon said committee to report. Mr. A. E. Scott, chairman of <br />the committee said that they had not been idle. They had made <br />investigations, but as the Metropolitan Water Board had applied to <br />the Legislature for a large increase to their systetn, which would <br />affect the cost of joining said system, he hoped that before our <br />annual meeting something would be done so that the report could he <br />made at that time. <br />ART. 9. Mr. G. W. Sampson said that the Selectmen were <br />appointed to go before the Legislature, to legalize the matter of <br />choosing Selectmen and stated that the matter had been assigned to <br />a committee, and a hearing would be held at an early date. Mr. <br />H. H. Putnam wanted to know what the date was and Mr. Sampson <br />said it had not yet been appointed. <br />On motion of Mr. Geo. F.
