35 <br />the United States of the present standard of weight and <br />fineness, to refund an equal amount of the bonds of the <br />town denominated " Lexington Water Bonds," which be- <br />come due Nov. 1st, 1898, under the authority of Chapter <br />160 of the Acts of 1896. <br />Voted, That said bonds be sold at private sale under the <br />direction of the selectmen upon the best terms they can <br />obtain. <br />ART. 31. To see if the town will authorize the selectmen <br />to make a further contract with the state highway commission- <br />ers for the construction of an additional section of the state <br />high way. <br />On motion of Mr. J. F. Hutchinson it was <br />Voted, That the selectmen be authorized to make a con- <br />tract with the state highway commissioners for the construc- <br />tion of an additional section of the state highway. <br />ART. 32. To see if the town will instruct the board of as- <br />sessors to publish the valuation and tax list for 1898, in the next <br />Town Report. <br />On motion of Mr. J. F. Maynard it was <br />Voted, That the matter be indefinately postponed. <br />ART. 33. To see if the town will instruct its Representative <br />in General Court to oppose the scheme known as " Greater Bos- <br />ton" County, or any other legislation which shall tend to dis- <br />36 <br />member Middlesex County or disrupt its time honored <br />institutions. <br />See adjourned meeting April 2, 1898. <br />ART. 34. To see if the town will vote to revoke the action of <br />the town whereby it was voted to accept the provisions of an <br />"Act to provide for the further protection of trees and for the <br />prevention of fires in woodlands." <br />Mr. J. F. Hutchinson read several sections from the Act <br />and said that the article had been inserted in the warrant at <br />the request of the farmers who would be affected thereby, <br />and moved that the town revoke the action of the last town <br />meeting. <br />Voted, That the action of the town whereby it accepted <br />the provisions of " An Act to provide for the further pro- <br />tection of trees and for the prevention of fires in wood- <br />lands," at the town meeting• held February 5, 1898, be <br />revoked. <br />On motion of Mr. Charles B. Davis, the meeting was de- <br />clared adjourned to Saturday, April 2, 1898, at 7.30 <br />o'clock, P.
