the box and the tellers commenced their labors, and bal- <br />lots were taken from the box at various times during <br />the day as follows : at 12.10 P. M. 50, at 2.45 P. M. 100, <br />at 4.45 P. M. 100, and at the close of the polls at 5 P. M. <br />37, showing the total number ballots cast to have been <br />387, which amount agreed with number of names <br />checked on each check list used, while the ballot box <br />register showed 487, showing that it had failed to <br />register properly. Four female voters cast their ballot <br />for School Committee. The unused ballots were re- <br />turned to the custody of the Town Clerk.
