LEXINGTON TOWN RECORDS. <br />WARRANT FOR A TOWN MEETING, <br />MONDAY, Jan. 5, 1891. <br />To WILLIAM B. FOSTER, Constable of Lexington, GREETING : — <br />In the name of the Commonwealth of Massachu- <br />setts, you are hereby required to notify and warn the <br />inhabitants of the town of Lexington, qualified by <br />law to vote in town affairs, to assemble at the town <br />hall, on Monday, the fifth day of January, A. D. <br />1891, at half past one o'clock, P. M., to act on the fol- <br />lowing articles, namely: — <br />ARTICLE 1. To choose a moderator to preside at <br />said meeting. <br />ART. 2. To hear the report of the Building Com- <br />mittee of the new school -house for the Hancock <br />schools, and act thereon. <br />AR'r. 3. To see if the town will vote to revoke or <br />rescind so much of the vote passed at the meeting <br />held May 29, 1890, whereby the disposal of the old <br />Hancock school -house lot was left to the School- <br />house. Committee. <br />ART. 4. To see if the town will make an appropri- <br />ation to enable the Selectmen to insure the new <br />school -house building as the work progresses, or act <br />in any manner relating thereto. <br />6 <br />ART. 5. To see if the town will authorize the <br />Building Committee to use slate instead of shingles, <br />and metal gutters and conductors in place of wood, <br />and to make some other changes in the construction <br />of the new Hancock school -house, and make an <br />appropriation therefor, or act in any manner relating <br />thereto. <br />ART. 6. To see if the town will authorize the <br />Building Committee to purchase a small additional <br />lot of land from the Rindge estate, or act in any <br />manner relating thereto. <br />ART. 7. To see if the town will appropriate and <br />authorize the Building Committee to use the amount <br />received from the insurance of the old Hancock <br />school -house and the amount which may be received <br />from the sale of the land, for using slate and copper <br />upon the roof, and in making other changes in con- <br />struction of the new school -house, and for furnishing <br />the same, and for purchasing additional land, or act <br />in any manner relating thereto. <br />ART. 8. To see what action the town will take in <br />relation to the petition of John P. Reed, and others, <br />to the County Commissioners, for the re -locating and <br />improving of Bedford Street from the Common to <br />the Bedford line. <br />LEXINGTON, MONDAY, JAN. 5, 1891. <br />The meeting in accordance with the foregoing <br />warrant was called to order by the Town Clerk at <br />the specified time, and the warrant and the return of <br />the constable thereon was read, and the business pro- <br />ceeded as follows : — <br />
