7 <br />ART. 15. To see if the town will make an appro- <br />priation to construct sidewalks with concrete or <br />other material, where the abutters will pay one half <br />the expense thereof. <br />ART. 16. To see if the town will authorize the <br />Selectmen to draw from any unappropriated money <br />in the treasury for the payment of contingent ex- <br />penses. <br />ART. 17. To see if the town will make an appro- <br />priation for the proper observance of April 19, 1890, <br />to be expended under the direction of a committee of <br />the Lexington Historical Society. <br />ART. 18. To see if the town will order Lowell <br />Street, between the Arlington line and Woburn <br />Street, to be repaired and improved. <br />ART. 19. To see if the town will pass a vote to <br />establish the width of sidewalks, and also a line upon <br />which ornamental or shade trees may be planted on <br />Main Street, or act in any manner relating thereto. <br />Action on the various articles in the foregoing <br />warrant was taken as follows: — <br />ARTICLE 1. Voted, That the polls be kept open <br />five minutes, for the choice of moderator. On ballot, <br />with the use of the check -list, it was found that thirty- <br />three votes had been cast, all for Robert P. Clapp, <br />who was declared chosen as moderator, and was <br />sworn by the clerk. <br />ART. 2. Mr. M. H. Merriam made a verbal report <br />for the Committee on llrainage, saying that the work <br />was progressing, and that the plans of the survey <br />were being made, and that the further sum of three <br />hundred dollars would be required to pay for said <br />survey; and it was — <br />8 <br />Voted, That the report be accepted, and that the <br />sum of three hundred dollars be appropriated for that <br />object. <br />Mr. F. F. Raymond, for the Committee on Water <br />Supply, made a report; and it was — <br />Voted, That the report of the committee be accepted <br />and that more time be granted them. Also, that the <br />committee be instructed to confer with the Water <br />Company in regard to an additional pump, and to <br />report at the next meeting. <br />ARTS. 3 and 4. Voted, That Articles 3 and 4 be <br />taken up together, and that we proceed to elect on <br />one ballot, three Selectmen, who shall also be Sur- <br />veyors of Highways, Overseers of the Poor, and <br />Board of Health, a Town Clerk, three Assessors, one <br />member of the School Committee for the term of <br />three years, one member of the Cemetery Committee <br />for the term of three years, two Constables, two <br />Auditors, one Treasurer, who shall also be Collector <br />of Taxes, and that the polls be kept open until half <br />past five o'clock P. M. <br />The moderator appointed Bradley C. Whitcher, <br />Leonard E. Bennink, George H. Reed, and Abram B. <br />Smith as tellers to assist in receiving and counting <br />the votes, and they were sworn by the clerk. After <br />closing the polls, the votes were tabulated, andan- <br />nounced by the moderator as follows: — <br />FOR TOWN CLERK. <br />Leonard A. Saville . <br />. . 340 <br />And Leonard A.
