Approve Minutes <br />- approved <br />2. Update on morning arrival incident (as it relates to our goal of safe and efficient arrival) <br />- The adults on duty responded immediately. 911 was called. Emergency vehicles arrived. Student <br />transported to hospital accompanied by parents. Student returned to school later that day. Estabrook <br />was commended for their efforts by family and emergency responders. Alert sent to teachers (including <br />script), district administrators, and families. <br />- Monthly reminder around safety at drop-off/pick-up? <br />- <br />VVe will continue to discuss our live drop off/pick-up. Including a "Do Not Enter" sign with specific <br />restricted times. <br />- Concern: that student may leave the line going to the bus without someone knowing. Response: All <br />dismissal changes must be noted in writing. By law students cannot be kept from their parents, <br />however there is a particular protocol around dismissal. Estabrook uses full staff for 15 minute <br />dismissal, assuring safe and efficient end of the day. <br />3. Enrollment Update <br />- October 1: As of 1/24 we will have 549 students (at least 3 more by February vacation). VVe anticipate <br />seeing an increase to around 560 by the end of the school year. 560-570 is the highest number for all <br />elementary schools. Redistricting was a conversation. Estabrook is filling naturally following minimal <br />redistricting. K classrooms are at capacity; for every additional student we need to hire additional <br />classroom support. Finding that using last year's data to predict enrollment for kindergarten may not be <br />our best tool. <br />Question- with additional students do students get put into the class with the new over -max aide? <br />Answer- balanced classrooms needed. Likely put new students in a new classroom, even if an <br />additional overmax is needed. <br />
