obtain the additional CPA funding in the FY18 funding cycle, the entire project is not <br /> contingent on the supplemental request and LHA plans to move ahead with the <br /> construction schedule outlined above regardless of the outcome at the 2017 Town Meeting. <br /> Wright Farm Barn Needs Assessment and Feasibility Study(Art. 8 (g)) <br /> $35,000 was appropriated by the 2016 Annual Town Meeting to fund a feasibility study for <br /> the barn located on the Wright Farm property. The feasibility study will consist of a <br /> structural stability analysis, educational programming needs assessment and architectural <br /> design assessment. Due to issues regarding remediation of the site surrounding the barn, <br /> this project has remained on hold but is now set to proceed as an environmental site <br /> assessment is nearing completion. <br /> Antony Park Construction Funds (Art. 8 (h)) <br /> CPA funds were appropriated by the 2016 Annual Town Meeting for construction of a park <br /> within Tower Park, commemorating Lexington's sister city, Antony, France. $60,000 in <br /> CPA funds were approved to supplement existing private donations received by the <br /> Tourism Committee to complete the project. The proposed design will rehabilitate a <br /> section of Tower Park to include a space reflective of French gardens and species and will <br /> include a sitting wall,pathways, landscaping and a memorial linking the two cities. A <br /> purchase order is in place and the project is scheduled to begin in late spring 2017. <br /> Minuteman Bikeway Wayfinding Signs Implementation (Art. 8 (i)) <br /> $120,000 was appropriated by the 2016 Annual Town Meeting for the purchase and <br /> installation of approximately 220 signs containing information on proper etiquette, bikeway <br /> access, nearby attractions and regulatory signage. This FY17 appropriation remains <br /> unspent,pending completion of the final design which was funded by an FY15 <br /> appropriation. Once the final design is complete, FY17 funds will be used to fund the <br /> procurement of a contractor to fabricate and install the signage. Upon completion of the <br /> wayfinding signs design, funds will also be used to hire a designer to develop interpretive <br /> signs and kiosks. <br /> Town Pool Design and Engineering Costs (Art. 8 (j)) <br /> This FY17 request provided partial funding for Phase III of the Town Pool Renovation <br /> project. $166,000 was approved to fund the design and engineering costs for replacement <br /> of the existing filtration system and additional work required to ensure the successful <br /> operation of the pool complex. The design and engineering work began in October 2016 <br /> and remains ongoing. The construction phase of the project (for which $1,620,000 is being <br /> requested under Article 10 (m) at the 2017 Annual Town Meeting)is scheduled to go out to <br /> bid in February/March 2017. Pending a favorable decision by Town Meeting, construction <br /> is expected to begin in September 2017. <br /> 29 <br />
