69 -456 <br />Selectmen's Meeting <br />August 15, 2016 <br />A meeting of the Lexington Board of Selectmen was held on Monday, August 15, 2016 at 7:00 <br />in the Selectmen's Meeting Room of the Town Office Building. Chairman Barry, Mr. Cohen, <br />Ms. Ciccolo, Mr. Kelley and Mr. Pato were present as well as Mr. Valente, Town Manager and <br />Ms. Siebert, Recording Secretary. <br />Selectmen's Concerns /Liaison Reports: <br />Ms. Barry raised three issues: <br />Due to the nationwide opioid addiction crisis, and following two overdoses this year in <br />Lexington, Ms. Barry requested an update from staff at a future meeting regarding how the Town <br />is responding. <br />Future meeting calendar: <br />• Friday, August 19, 9:15 am Selectmen's Meeting Room. Mr. Cohen is unable to <br />attend. <br />• Tuesday, August 30, 9 am Selectmen's Meeting Room. Mr. Pato is unable to attend. <br />• Thursday, September 8, 7 pm Joint meeting with the Planning Board. Three members <br />cannot attend so Town Manager Valente will contact Planning Director Henry to fmd <br />an alternate September date. <br />• Monday, September 12, 7 pm Selectmen's Meeting Room. Regular meeting. <br />• Tuesday September 13, at either 6 pm or 7 pin (time to be confirmed) 201 Bedford St. <br />Joint Meeting with School Committee <br />• Wednesday, September 14, 7:30 pm Battin Hall, Cary Memorial Building. Town <br />Meeting Members' Association Information Night. <br />• Wednesday, September 21, 6:30 pm Board meeting prior to Town Meeting. <br />• Wednesday, September 21, 7:30 pm Battin Hall, Cary Memorial Building. Special <br />Town Meeting. <br />• Monday, September 26, 7 pm Selectmen's Meeting Room. Regular meeting. <br />Ms. Barry announced the retirement of Executive Clerk Lynne A. Pease who has been on <br />medical leave since late April. The Board of Selectmen and Town Manager spoke individually of <br />their high esteem for Ms. Pease and her contributions to the affairs of the Town. <br />Ms. Barry: "It is with great sadness that I speak for this current Board and all Boards before us <br />because Lynne has been an amazing force in our office. She's been incredibly calm and <br />competent and has never hesitated to rise to the task....She is much beloved. <br />Mr. Pato: "I want to express my appreciation for Ms. Pease. I served for two years as the <br />Chairman of the Board and I can't imagine having taken over the position without the steadfast <br />support that Ms. Pease provided. As you know, the Board members are volunteers. Ms. Pease <br />professionalized the office and provided us with unbelievable support. <br />
