A presentation to the Board of Selectmen will likely happen in December. The
department is looking into acquiring a credit card payment system for items such as bus ticket
and pass payments. Members discussed that a surcharge for credit cards in Massachusetts
is illegal, but convenience fees are not. Ms. Rebecchi attended Back to School Night at LHS,
but noted that Freshman Orientation Night was much more beneficial as parents were less
rushed and had time to visit the table.
4. FlexPass sales are increasing despite loss of student ridership. TAC members and staff will
further explore options to boost ridership. TAC members noted the need to add boosting
ridership as a separate agenda item for November’s meeting.
5: RFP for New Bus Contract:
Ms. Rebecchi noted that the RFP has been through 4-5 iterations.
Final version should be on the website by end of week with a mid-November deadline.
