Lexington Community Center Program Advisory Committee <br />Minutes of Meeting <br />October 20, 2016 <br />A meeting of the Community Center Program Advisory Committee was held on Thursday, <br />October 20, 2016 at 7:00 p.m. at the Lexington Community Center, 39 Marrett Road, Lexington. <br />Meeting Attendees: Members - Nancy Adler, Dan Palant, Nancy Shepard (Chair), Archana Singhal, <br />John Zhu <br />Ex- Officio Member Attendees: Sheila Butts (Community Center Director), Charlotte Rodgers <br />(Director of Human Services) <br />Unable to attend: Karen Simmons (Director of Recreation & Community Program), Alessandro <br />Alessandrini, Lisah Rhodes <br />Other Attendees — Betty Borghesani- Co -Chair COA <br />The meeting was called to order at 7pm. Committee members and attendees introduced themselves. <br />1. Citizens and Other Boards <br />Betty Borghesani- attended because she wanted to hear more about the room use policy. <br />2. Minutes of September 22nd, 2016 <br />The minutes from the September meeting were reviewed and unanimously accepted. <br />3. Directors Report <br />• Rental Fees: <br />o Community Center (CC) staff met with the Board of Selectmen (BOS) about <br />proposed fees for building use. The BOS is in favor of establishing a fee structure <br />and a Universal Use Policy for all town facilities. The CC staff is gathering more <br />information to present to the BOS next month. They are currently testing have <br />several rooms (245, 246, 123) available for use on a first come, first served basis. <br />• Voting at the CC: <br />o Precinct 3 votes at the CC. There is also a large event at the Museum that day. <br />There is a concern about having enough parking for voters. Morning programs <br />have been cancelled for that day. <br />• Human Services Update: <br />o Charlotte and Karen will be attending the MA Council on Aging annual meeting. <br />They will be giving a presentation on "Delivering Senior Services in a <br />Multigenerational Center ". The talk will also include a summary of what the 1st <br />year looked like. <br />o Charlotte reported that in 2015 -16, there was a 32% increase in the number of <br />seniors that used services. There are 8500 seniors in Lexington (60 +). By 2020, it <br />is estimated that there will be 9750 seniors. <br />
