Select Board Announcements and Liaison Reports—January 8, 2024 <br /> Mark Sandeen: <br /> Affordable Housing Trust <br /> • The Affordable Housing Trust voted on January 3rd to recommend that the Select Board place a <br /> warrant article on the Annual Town Meeting warrant asking for Town Meeting's authorization to <br /> allow the Select Board or its designee to enter into a Land Disposition Agreement for the <br /> development of affordable housing on the Town owned property at Lowell Street and North <br /> Street. <br /> Two members of the Affordable Housing Trust had previously met with all Select Board <br /> members to answer any questions the Select Board members had about the proposed warrant <br /> article. The Affordable Housing Trust will be conducting public information session on the <br /> proposed development plan.The Town has mailed notices to neighbors within 300 feet of the <br /> property inviting them to attend the public information session on January 16t". The Affordable <br /> Housing Trust will also be reaching out to several Town committees, boards, commissions and <br /> other affordable housing stakeholders suggested by Select Board members to solicit comments <br /> regarding the proposed plan. <br /> The wording of the final proposed warrant article has been reviewed and updated by Town <br /> Counsel and Town staff. <br /> ARTICLE 31 AUTHORIZE AFFORDABLE HOUSING TRUST TO SEEK AFFORDABLE HOUSING <br /> To see if the Town will vote to authorize the Select Board to sell, lease or otherwise <br /> dispose of Town-owned land described as parcel 68-44 located on Lowell Street near the <br /> northeast corner of North Street and Lowell Street for the purposes of developing <br /> affordable housing thereon, and to authorize the Select Board or its designee to enter <br /> into a Land Disposition Agreement and associated agreements in connection therewith; <br /> or to act in any other manner thereto. <br /> • The Affordable Housing Trust also voted on January 3rd to send a statement to the Select Board <br /> on the importance and urgency of using the Town owned parcel at 173 Bedford Street for <br /> affordable housing. <br />
