Commissioner Absent: Edward Adelman. Associate Commissioners Present: Robert Adams, Brien Cooper, Richard Neumeier. Associate Commissioner Absent: Staff Present: Siqing Pan, Department Assistant nd Chair Paul O’Shaughnessy called the November 2, 2023 Historic Districts Commission meeting to order at 6:02pm. CONTINUED HEARING Chair Paul O’Shaughnessy opened the continued hearing for 1575 Massachusetts Avenue, exterior changes (Solar Carports) in the Battle Green Historic District Documents Updated Proposed plans: dated October 23,2023 Material lists and project narrative: dated October 23, 2023 The applicants explained the proposed solar carports plans at 1575 Massachusetts Avenue. The Commission felt the proposed changes were appropriate. William Erickson, 31 Sherman St, and Dan Voss, 10 Hancock Ave, expressed their support to this solar canopy project. Motion was granted and seconded to issue a Certificate of Appropriateness for exterior changes to 1575 Massachusetts Avenue. Motion carried, all in favor. Chair Paul O’Shaughnessy opened the continued hearing for 4 Percy Road, exterior changes (Additions) in the Munroe Tavern Historic District Documents None Historic Districts Commission 1 / 3 The architect explained the proposed additions plans at 4 Percy Road. The Commission felt the proposed changes were appropriate. The Lexington Historical Society sent a letter and stated its support to this proposed addition. No Public Comments. Motion was granted and seconded to issue a Certificate of Appropriateness for exterior changes to 4 Percy Road. Motion carried, all in favor. FORMAL HEARING Chair Paul O’Shaughnessy opened the formal hearing for 1912 Massachusetts Avenue, exterior alterations (Lighting, exterior CCTV camera, and door replacement) in the Battle Green Historic District Documents Full plan set of proposed alteration: dated October 11, 2023 Photographs of entire place of each building elevation visible from the public way: dated October 11, 2023 Site Plan: dated October 11, 2023 Material List: dated October 11, 2023 Work Scope Narrative: dated October 11, 2023 Owner Authorization Letter: dated September 27, 2023 Legal Advertisement Authorization Form: dated September 27, 2023 The applicants explained the proposed exterior alteration plans to 1912 Massachusetts Avenue. The Commission agreed to continue this hearing to December HDC meeting. Some commissioners suggested to consult with a lighting designer for the proposed lighting plans. Some cameras are invisible from public way so those will be out of HDC jurisdiction. Paul O’Shaughnessy and Dan Hisel will serve as liaison for this application. No public comments. The Commission felt this proposed signage plans were appropriate. No public comments. Historic Districts Commission 2 / 3 Motion was granted and seconded to issue a Certificate of Appropriateness for exterior changes to 46 Bedford Street. Motion carried, all in favor.
