AGENDA ITEM SUMMARY <br /> LEXINGTON BOARD OF SELECTMEN MEETING <br /> AGENDA ITEM TITLE: <br /> Water/Sewer Abatement Appeals (15 min) <br /> PRESENTER: ITEM <br /> NUMBER: <br /> Resident Appeals <br /> 1.2 <br /> SUMMARY- <br /> Water/Sewer customers who believe their bills are incorrect may file an appeal. The process is: <br /> 1. Owner/customer files written appeal with DPW Water/Sewer Business Manager; <br /> 2. Business Manager makes a recommendation to the Water/Sewer Abatement Board(WSAB); <br /> 3. WSAB, at a public meeting, makes a determination on the appeal and staff recommendation; <br /> 4. If the customer does not agree with this determination, they can present their case directly to the WSAB <br /> for further consideration; <br /> 5. If the customer still does not agree with the determination of the WSAB, they can appeal to the Board of <br /> Selectmen. <br /> The Assistant Town Manager for Finance recommends that the Board hear both appeals and take them under <br /> advisement, for a subsequent analysis and Board determination. <br /> SUGGESTED MOTION: <br /> FOLLOW-UP: <br /> Assistant Town Manager will undertake further review based on Board questions. <br /> DATE AND APPROXIMATE TIME ON AGENDA: <br /> 5/2/2016 <br /> ATTACHMENTS: <br />
