WorkingGrouponIssuesonSocialDiversity:Petersaidthereisnoupdateandhefindsthathis schedulehasbeenverybusy.Peterwouldliketotakearoleontheprojectbutwouldnotbeabletobe aprojectleader.FernandosaidtheissuesarestillthatLexingtonismovinginthedirectionofbecoming alessdiversepopulationwithageandincome.Hesaidthereisboundtobeoverlapwiththeissue aroundcommunitydivisiveness.Mariansaidthedatafortheprojectisnowayearold.Petersaid maybethecommitteecanworkonthedevelopmentofanewsurveyreleased10monthsfromnow. Mariansaidthedevelopmentofthesurveycouldbeareformingofthegrouplater.Fernandosaidhe wouldliketoseetrendsovertime.Petersaidtheyneedascopinggroup.Marianaskedwhattheyare scoping.Shesaidshecanseeagreatreportcomingoutofthis.Previoussurveyscouldbeusedtoget thecomparison.Petersaidthegroupcouldlookatdemographictrendsnowandwhatthesurvey shouldlooklike.Ascopinggrouptoworkonthecontentofthesurveywouldbegreat.Mariansaid overthesummershewouldbeabletotakethelead. BhumipreportedthatDonnaprovidedfeedbacktohiminwritingregardingfutureofegovernmentin Lexington.Fernandosaidtherearesiloswhichdifferentgroupsfallintoandarenotawareofother groups.Heaskediftherewasagreementonwhethersiloscreateculturesystemsandculturalgroups. Feedbackinasilocanbeproblematic.FernandosaidhevisitedaninsectresearchcenterinNairobiand theirlogoincludedasinglelocust.Theywereinterestedinhowonesololocustbehavesversuswhenit isinthegroup.Thebigissuewascommunication.Withthegroupwiththelocustbecameadestructive forcewithcommunication.Thesamecanbetruewithhumansandhowwegetworkedupoverspecific issuessuchasgunownership.Alansaiditishumannaturetobedrawntoasilo.Maybeweneeda multiculturalfairorsomethingthatunitespeople.Mariansaidwelearnsocialnorms,andthrowninto themixissexual,ethnic,andagediversity,andwearesupposedtobepeaceful,anddecidingwhotakes priorityischallenging.Wearedevelopingnewwaystoproceedasasociety.
