Board of Assessors Meeting <br />Open Session Minutes <br />January 10, 2023 <br />A meeting of the Lexington Board of Assessors was called to order at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 10, 2023 in the Parker <br />Meeting Room, Town Office Building. Gregory Johnson, Chairman, Edmund C. Grant, Member and Casimir Groblewski, <br />Member were present as well as Robert F. Lent, Director of Assessing, Michael E. Golden, Assistant Director of Assessing, <br />Barbara Sird, Residential Inspector/Analyst and Sandra Pentedemos, Administrative Assessor. <br />Ooen Session <br />Public Comment Time: None present. <br />Mr. Lent informed the Board that Real Estate Research Consultants (RRC) in December began performing the annual field <br />data collection of the Business Personal Property. RRC will notify Mr. Lent when the site -inspections have been completed in <br />Town. The Form of Lists for Fiscal Year 2024 are due on or before March 1, 2023. <br />VOTE: Upon a motion duly made and seconded, the Board of Assessors voted 3-0 by roll call to adjourn the Open Session of <br />the meeting at 4:15 p.m. to enter into Executive Session under Purpose 7 in order to deliberate Fiscal Year 2023 Statutory <br />Exemptions, Real Estate Abatement Applications and Personal Property Abatements. Further it was declared that an open <br />meeting discussion may have a detrimental effect on the litigation position of the town. <br />The Board reconvened Open Session at 6:10 p.m. <br />Executive Session occurred here: details may be viewed in separate Executive Session folder. <br />VOTE: Upon a motion duly made and seconded, the Board of Assessors voted 3-0 by roll call to approve the <br />recommendations for the Fiscal Year 2023 Chapter 59, Section 5 Various Statutory Exemption Applications. The <br />Finance/MUNIS software allows for the exemption credits to be applied, prior to issuing the Actual 31 quarter bills, during the <br />December month, known as the MASS ABATE processing. These exemption credits are applied to the 3nd & 4'h quarterly tax <br />bill, reducing the amounts due. (See lists in Executive folder). <br />VOTE: Upon a motion duly made and seconded, the Board of Assessors voted 3-0 by roll call to approve the <br />recommendations for the Fiscal Year 2023 Chapter 59 Section 59, Real Estate Abatement Applications. <br />(See list in Executive folder). <br />VOTE: Upon a motion duly made and seconded, the Board of Assessors voted 3-0 by roll call to approve the <br />recommendations for the Fiscal Year 2023 Chapter 59 Section 59, Personal Property Abatement Applications. <br />(See list in Executive folder). <br />There were no pending Appellate Tax Board actions to discuss.
