4 1 <br /> CHARGE TO ADVISORY COMMITTEE ON CABLE TELEVISION <br /> Selectmen's Meeting June 16, 1975 <br /> Upon motion duly made and seconded, it was voted to approve <br /> the recommendation of the Town Treasurer to award the bid for <br /> borrowing $50,000 in anticipation of taxes to the Harvard Trust <br /> Company at 2:30 percent; notes to be dated June 27, 1975, and <br /> maturing on September 12, 1975. <br /> Mr. Zehner: If we receive federal reimbursement, the loan <br /> will be paid off; if not, I will have to come back to the Board <br /> for additional money. <br /> Members of the Lions Club met with the Board to request that 4th of July <br /> the 4th of July carnival be extended one more day to Saturday, Carnival <br /> July 6th, with dismantling to be done on Sunday. <br /> Upon motion duly made and seconded, it was voted to grant per- <br /> mission to the Lions Club to conduct the 4th of July carnival an <br /> additional day, Saturday, July 6, 1975, from Noon to 10:00 p.m. , <br /> with the understanding that dismantling of carnival egi4pmerit is <br /> to commence on Sunday, July 7, at 9 :00 a.m. <br /> CATV <br /> Mr. William Page met with the Board to discuss his recommend- Appointments <br /> ations for appointments to the Advisory Committee on Cable Tel- <br /> evision. <br /> Mr. Page: I have given you my recommendations for appoint- <br /> ments to CAVT, plus a list of citizens who are willing to serve <br /> as consultants. This would reconstitute the committee to con- <br /> sist of seven members, who would continue as the official ad- <br /> visory committee when, and if, the licensing process is triggered. <br /> Their charge would be : <br /> (a) To hold hearings on the subject of ownership and oper- <br /> ation; <br /> (b) To make a specific recommendation to the Board of <br /> Selectmen regarding ownership and operation of a <br /> Cable system for Lexington; <br /> (c) To continue to prepare for the time when the licensing <br /> process is officially triggered; <br /> (d) To recommend the structure and functions of a permanent <br /> overseeing commission to promote the best interests of <br /> the Town once a cable system has been installed and <br /> operating. <br /> Upon motion duly made and seconded, it was voted to appoint the <br /> following members of the Advisory Committee on Cable Television: <br /> William R.
