Whereas: generations of immigrants from every corner of the globe have built our country's
econorny a�d created the uriique character of our nat�on; and
Wher�eas: immigxants continue to grow businesses, inriovate, strengthen our economy, and
create American j obs in Lexington,Massachusetts; and
T�Yhereas: immigrants have provided the United States with unique socia�and cultural
influence, fundamentally enrichirig the extraardinary chaxacter of our nation; ar�d
Whereas: �mm�grarits have been t�reless leaders not only in securing thexr own rights and
access to equal opportunity,but have alsa campaigned to create a fairer and more
just socxety for all Americans; and
Whe�eas: despite these countless contributions,the role of immigrants in building and
enriching our nation has frequently been overlooked and undervalued throughout
our history and continuing to the present day.
NOW, THEREFORE, Tfi�E, TI�E SELECT BQARD af the Town of Lex%�.gton, Massachusetts, do
hereby proclaim the month of June 2423 as
Immi �ant He�i�a e Month

in the Town of Lexington and ca11 upon a11 citizens to join us in celebrating our country's
imrn�grant heritage - stories of ir�dividua�s, families and communities who have contributed to
the unique social fabric of a country whose greatness is fueled by its diversity.
I11T WITNESS N�IEREaF, we have set our hands and caused the seal of Lexington to be aff�xed
herewith on the 22nd of May 2423.
